Police are saying that the boy was murdered and his mother is being held on second degree murder charges. More details likely when autopsy is complete.

The Kitsap Sun reports that emergency personnel were called at about 7 a.m. Tuesday to the 11400 block of Symes Road south of Seabeck, which is west of Seattle.

Bail was set at $1,000,000 for the 47-year-old Bremerton woman.

Court documents state Amber Lynn James, 47, called 911 four times the day before her son's death on Halloween morning and told the dispatchers she was being followed and that it was an ongoing problem.

While in the Seabeck home, detectives said they observed writing and carvings on the walls in the room across from where the boy was found, documents state.

"She stated she prayed, thought about it, cried and then put her hands around his throat so he couldn't breathe any longer," a Kitsap County Sheriff's detective wrote in the court affidavit.

When James was arrested, she reportedly had garlic cloves, two lighters and a small vial of holy water with her, according to court documents.

The boy has been named as Ryan Rosales. I'm familiar with Seabeck, it's a beautiful area. Mom sounds like she has severe mental problems.

Court documents say Ryan's mother had called 911 earlier in the week complaining she thought she was being followed by people in cars and airplanes.

Here's the account of what happened according to court documents obtained by Q13 News:

Ryan Rosales' father was taking a shower around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. When he got out, he smelled gas.

The father went into the kitchen and found all four burners on the stove were on with the caps taken off. He confronted the boy's mother, Amber James, who denied turning on the gas. He noticed scratches on her neck.

The father then opened the windows of the home to vent the gas. He went to check on his son and give him a kiss, and noticed the boy was cold to the touch and unresponsive. The father called 911 and began CPR.

Ugh. The mother had garlic, lighters and a vial of holy water which she said she used to "say a prayer for my baby." She thought she was being followed and said she needed to save her son and herself from people who were after them. She also had been watching YouTube conspiracy videos about politics and "chemtrails."

Police found writings on the home's wall; "Harvest," "Spaywar," "Greed kills," "sex trade," "God is coming," "No pedo," and "Michael=Devil." She was sent to a hospital to be evaluated and is currently in the Kitsap County jail, is facing charges of second-degree murder with current bail at $1,000,000. Next court appearance is Friday.

James has not entered a plea to the charge and no trial date has been set.“Nobody from Western State has spoken to her at all?” Superior Court Judge Kevin Hull asked Deputy Prosecutor Ben Turner Friday.
“To my knowledge that is correct,” Turner said.

She still has not been evaluated by mental health providers. :gaah:

A Seabeck woman accused of killing her 9-year-old son last year was found not guilty by reason of insanity. 48-year-old Amber Lynn James was ordered to a state mental hospital following the Monday court appearance.

Mental health experts had determined that James could not perceive the difference between right and wrong due to a mental illness at the time of her son's death.

State law allows James to be held in custody of the hospital for the rest of her life. She could be released at a later point depending on what doctors conducting her care determine.
