It scares me to think that maybe her asking for directions and abandoning the car were all intentional to make people think she was actually lost, when actually it was planned...Forgetting the phone, stopping for dinner, etc. Did she ask for directions when she got dinner? When she comes out of the handy mart store she looks up and smiles. Almost like she is looking at someone waiting there. I wonder if the ex-boyfriend has something to do with helping her...

I've had police officers escort me back to the freeway when I've been lost...It shouldn't take someone 5 hours to figure it out especially if the freeway was right there. She may never have been lost...It will be interesting to see what happens.

I do think she may have called the ex to help her that night, or someone and they are not telling police.

I know it's kind of reaching...but still possible!

Thanx for the link to the "buying the wine" video at Handy Pantry. She let Azriel buy himself something too. That explains why she said no 10 minutes later at the Safeway.

So maybe all these stops to ask for directions were making opportunities for herself to drink. Somehow I don't see her drinking "while" she's driving.

I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't know how half of that bottle would affect her.

that video doesn't show her buying wine, it shows her asking for directions. it just says that a bottle of wine washed up, which could be from anyone.

Did you watch this video?

It looks like a jug of white wine to me and the clerk puts it in a bag. It's possible the wine was a gift for her stepfather or she was drinking and continued to drink throughout the night.

I'm not sure you're watching the video that was linked. She is clearly buying a jug of wine.

Additionally, they LE has the receipts for it.

I'm not saying I don't feel bad for him. His denial that she wouldn't drink and drive, when she had relapsed, is not realistic. An alcoholic can't control their actions once they start drinking. He enabled her drinking by not setting boundaries once he knew she had relapsed. A consequence of that should have been not driving their vehicle and definitely not taking the children anywhere Had he been more knowledgeable of the disease, we wouldn't be discussing, what looks like a sad tragedy that is unfolding. jmo

*If* it is true that she has been on the wagon for years, he has only been around for two years, and she just relapsed for whatever reason he would not have had much time to understand what he was dealing with as far as addicition.

If you haven't grown up with or been in a serious relationship with a substance abuser an out of the blue partaking and a promise that it is a one/two time slip, you are just stressed about ________________, would go a long way. I can't blame him if that is the real story. I envy people who are not intimately familiar with what drug abuse looks likes and what it comes with.

I also get him trying to convince everyone that a very responsible woman is in trouble and this is totally unlike her. Just like parents who have a teen disappear after a teenage breakup or a teenage meltdown because mom said no. You KNOW in your heart something is wrong, but if you tell the police your 15 year old disappeared after you had a blow up at home they won't take it seriously. They will just write it off as she will be home in a couple of days.

I always think the boyfriend or hubby is sketchy. This time I really don't. He has a good relationship with his own kids, even his teenage daughter has glowing reports of him. He is online with his photos, DJ stuff, yoga, other people who have been in those activities with him wrote nice stuff about him prior. No one has a found a police record.

If he was trying to tell this story of overlapping routes and payphone calls, and four hours lost in a section of town that has TWO north and south bound entrances to the freeway within a mile of each other (she is in the middle of a loop) and there were not surveillance videos showing her there I would think he was full of it.

Yes it does. It's a different video from the Safeway.

I completely agree with the inconsistencies. But, maybe she just does not want to be found. In all of this I feel the worst for Azriel. That is who is going through the worst of it. It's not fair to him at all. Anyone can write what they want on MS or FB and all seems great. Who really would write anything bad for the world to see? I don't think many would. I know I wouldn't. It's just so sad that a little innocent boy is involved in all of this and I pray he is ok.

Amen. Hoax or not, this isn't going to end well for him.

I am confused, which article says she bought wine? I thought she didn't buy alcohol at any of the stores they knew of yesterday, and the video clearly shows her not buying anything in the Safeway? Just wondering, thanks.

The article I linked in my post that you quoted.

IMO, When she bought that large bottle of wine, she meant to get drunk.
She bought that at 8pm and if she drank half by 10pm she was toasted. I just do not understand, why no one noticed.

I think she was buzzed up and thought it funny to go down that road towards the beach. When she got stuck and couldn't get out, that made for more fun.

She could have said, well we are stuck here on this beautiful beach, I think I will go swimming. This is just way to sad!

Doesn't she buy it with a credit card too? I think I see the clerk swiping the credit card.

And I take back my earlier comment about "could half a bottle of wine do that?" I was imagining the .75L bottles, that looks like a JUG - would be = to at least 2 bottles.

I am not sure the laws in WA, but in NY convenience/grocery stores can't sell drinks above a certain alcohol level (the equivalent of beer). So you can't buy regular wine at convenience stores, only the very low-alcohol type.

And then Azriel knocked on a door at 1:00 a.m. for help, and nobody answered?

Reportedly the waitress at the corndog stop thought she was drunk and she fell in the parking lot at that stop. The pizza people stop have said she appeared to have been crying. The son tells the corndog stop people that she hit her head, tells the pizza people she hurt her knee.

I am not much of a drinker but I am pretty sure we sell regular beer and wine (and like the Mike's Hard Lemonade type of things) in the grocery and convenience stores. It is only hard alcohol that is limited to the liquor stores.
