WA WA - Yakima, WhtFem 18-25, 916UFWA, handmade yellow dress, 5-pt star tatt, "SCOTT-LILLIE-2H", Jul'77

Bumping for this UID, the prison lead is a good clue, if only we could figure out what it means.

Found a Lillie M. Scott in Washington, 71 years old, and has 1 criminal record behind a pay wall on spokeo.

Unfortunately the links to star-shaped tattoos no longer seem to be working, but I wonder if the tattoo was a pentagram which might indicate connections to the pagan or wiccan community.

Pentacle, usually if it's Wiccan or Pagan. If it doesn't have a circle around it, the chances of it being pagan-related are less. I only know of a few groups that use stars without a circle.

In 1977, the pagan community in the area was probably fairly secretive. If you think that's a lead that should be followed up on, I can ask on the various pagan groups and message boards that I'm active on.

I've seen plenty of both here in the UK, but that doesn't mean both were in wide circulation in the US in the 1970s.

Any lead is worth following up for someone who has been unidentified for almost 40 years.

Given this is West Coast, I'd suggest talking in the first instance with the CAW lot. They've been going in CA since the late 1960s and a few of the leaders may go back to the relevant period. After that, probably Selena Fox at Circle. She's been around long enough to know who might be still around who was active on the West Coast back in the 1970s.

This is assuming that this is a pagan 5 pointed star (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=5...oKHfpWDNMQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=pentagram) rather than one like this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five-pointed_star).

Then there's the nautical star (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nautical_star), popular as a tattoo with the US Navy and Marines. If it was this design, it might indicate that someone important to her had served in those sections of the armed forces.

Of course, the pentagram has also been used as a Christian symbol where the 5 points represent the 5 wounds of Christ. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain's shield bears a pentagram with this meaning.

We really need to know if LE has a sketch or photo of the tattoo and if so what style it is.

I'm asking around. I used to admin on a very large pagan messageboard and have a lot of contacts through that so I'm putting out feelers there. Also going to post to several groups on Facebook and see if I can send a message to CAW and the COG.

I think we really do need to know what sort of star was represented by her tattoo. If it wasn't a pentagram or pentacle, then enquiries within the pagan field are unlikely to produce results. Unfortunately as I'm in the UK phoning LE isn't feasible for me.

I wonder where her remains are and if she's exhumable. Since there's no photo or reconstruction, and no DNA, there's probably not much chance of identifying her as things stand.

Has anyone suggested Linda Endorf yet? She went missing in Dec of 1976 from Tukwila WA. She worked at Sea-Tac.
She is the exact height.
Her weight is off by 20 lbs.
No mention of a tattoo
She has a burn scar on her shoulder but it doesn't mention how big/noticeable, etc
She had one child
Her husband was accused of murdering his second wife (after Linda's disappearance) and putting her in the trunk of her car.

Linda seems like a good match, but where was she in the months in between her disappearance and the death of the Jane Doe?

I am guessing that they are interested in this woman as a possible for the 1977 Yakima Jane Doe.

YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima police are looking for relatives of Shirley Anne Kerns, who could have gone missing during the 1970s, for DNA testing.
Authorities say that Kerns was not reported as missing in the 1970s, but several unidentified human remains were found in Washington state and Yakima during that time period.

Relatives of Kerns can help identify her by participating in a DNA comparison.

Kerns is a white female, and would have been in her late 20s to early 30s when she disappeared. Her current age would be about 70, and her year of birth around 1946.

Kerns graduated from AC Davis High School in 1964 at age 18

I saw that yesterday and didn't put two and two together.
I was confused because the article states "could have gone missing".
Does that mean they're not sure if she's missing? I'm not making the connection as to why they believe she may have gone missing if no one reported her.
