"They have to learn self-control," said Lighthouse Christian Academy Principal Luke Pearson"

Sounds like Mr Pearson needs to learn a sense of humor!

I mean what they did was harmless.

    What a dork!
With a graduating class That small
you would think that they were all
very close and knew the students very well.

.... Unless THIS IS A JOKE!! Now, THAT would be funny,
if the principal is pulling a prank on the kids!

What a huge dork.... I actually thought this article was about me.  :p

A girlfriend and I did both of the above AND TOOK OUT the bottom part of the telephone.... (remember when you could unscrew them??) so when you called the office or the office called the room, you could hear but couldn't talk back....

we put the pieces in a bag and put it into the janitorial room....

I never once thought it was a terrible prank as it wouldn't have hurt anyone at all.... just fun stuff. Good lord, no one has a sense of humor????

Yeah, they made a mess! Whoop-die-doo! What highschooler doesn't! The school got off lucky, there was no permanent damage, and no one got hurt. Maybe we should send this principal the story about the school where all of the doors got superglued locks. At least they had something to complain about, due to the cost.

I would have never have participated in anything like this prank when I was in school and I really have no time for kids that do this crap now.. I hope my daughter has more respect for her school then these kids did.

What does 'sneaking in early' mean? were the doors open or did these kids break & enter?

IMO the punishment was too harsh... I think they should have been made clean up their mess, apologize in a 10,000 word essay - written in cursive ;) but I would have let them have their graduation, they worked for it and earned the right.

I feel really sorry for the one kid that stayed out of it... and who lost their graduation. :(

I have a cousin with several PhD's. But he is so Prissy, always expecting perfection, that he could never hold a job for long. The last job he had was teaching high school math. The kids set his trash on fire. I KNOW this isn't really funny as it could have been serious but every time I think of it, I have to laugh. Too bad I wasn't there to see his face. He hasn't taught since.

Bet he and this Principal could educate the world!

No one AS A TEENAGER HAS EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR???????????? DID A HARMLESS PRANK? I mean we're talking about a prank that was probably pulled 50 years ago by some student.... with saran wrap!!! Good heavens..... Now I know people don't have a sense of humor.....

I suspect that SOME OF THE PEOPLE HERE.... will be getting "stories" from their children, when their children reach 40 years old.

    "remember when......."

I had a conversation the other day with my dad about his teen years and MAN OH MAN, the things he pulled off....... I would never have done.

But really people, greasing the door knobs and saran wrap????? What the HELL is the big deal???? Goodness.....

I turned out to be a very law abiding citizen who LOVES her children and HUSBAND dearly..... and volunteers excessively at many things....

I taught for several years at a very proper, very preppy private school. complete with the British Headmaster. (though it is here in the states). About five years ago the senior class had an old fashioned outhouse built and delivered to the front breezeway at the school. When the headmaster came outside and saw it, he calmly walked inside the outhouse and closed the door. The joke was on the students then because none of them knew what to do then! LOL He did have a great sense of dry humor. No harm, no foul

The graduation class before me took a donkey up to the third floor. They will walk up steps but will NOT walk down. The staff refused to tell anyone how they got it out of the building.
Now, that is cruelty to animals!!!!!!!!!!

    I don't understand this....

"Early last Thursday, seven of the school's eight seniors sneaked into the school and pulled off their prank." Only eight seniors....what kind of ceremony would that have been anyhow??? What a harmless prank....during my senior year some of the kids (nope...not me!) snuck in and dumped motor oil all over every hallway. It was the biggest mess...we had finals..we all had to wait a couple of hours while they covered the oil with cat litter. It was disgusting and still to this day I feel bad for the cleaning crew who had to clean up that mess.

I can see the desk prank and even the door handle prank as 'harmless' however I am very glad I have never had the misfortune of sitting on a toilet covered with saran wrap, that would be a humiliating and disgusting experience. They crossed a line and sadly the punishment is a little extreme too.

I'm all for a good laugh but not at what likely happened to this Principal.

    Just my opinion,
    Jubie
