What case really burns your butt?

Recent Case: Lori Vallow Daybell-missing kids JJ and Tylee and possible murders of her ex-husband, her new husband's wife and her brother.

Case that bothers me the most: The Boys on the Track, Caylee Anthony, Johnny Goesch, Gene Martin and Gabriel Johnson

Case that I am still not convinced on: West Memphis 3-There is still evidence at the crime scene that said that at least one of the 3 originally charged was there. I can't find a reason for that. This doesn't convict someone but I had hoped Damian Echols would have learned something through all of this and having a wife that supports him like he has I would have hoped he would have quit dabbling in black magic and as far as I can tell he is more into it now than ever before so he really is the same person he was all those years ago. He gives me a really bad vibe when I watch him on videos and read his facebook page and blogs.

Past cases that I would either like to be solved or bodies to be found: Madeline McCann, Jon Bonet Ramsey, Kyron Horman, Stacey Peterson, Jennifer Kesse, Lisa Stebic, Susan Cox Powell, Brittanee Drexel, Dylan Redwine, Rebecca Zahau, Springfield 3, Trenton Duckett, Natalie Holloway, Adam Walsh and the Pike County Shootings.

There is a old crime case that I cannot remember the name of the victim. It was solved but the case just stuck with me. The victims name was Sylvia I think. Her mother and father worked for the carnival and the father met a woman and asked her to keep two of his daughters for $25 a week. This lady did not like Sylvia and she mistreated her terribly. The father did not keep up with the payments and it made the woman mad so she started torturing Sylvia in the basement. She would burn her with cigarettes, torture her, not feed her and left her in her own urine and feces tied up in the basement. Sylvia went through a lot and the lady that was keeping her encouraged her kids and neighborhood kids to also torture Sylvia until it was too late and Sylvia passed away. The woman and her eldest daughter went to jail and only served a short time because they were later let out and lived freely. I think this happened in the 1960's.

Are you possibly thinking of the Sylvia Likens case? She was murdered by Gertrude Banizewsky, her daughter Paula and kind of an assortment of neighborhood kids who wandered into Gertrude's home and would commit cruelties at Gertrude's direction. I think Gertrude served about 15 years. Paula served only a couple years if I recall correctly. Both relocated to Iowa where they changed their names. They lived in Laurel Iowa and believe it or not Paula was a teachers aid at the BCLUW School District where my grandchildren attended school. She was discovered by background check and fired from her employment with the school district. She still lives in Laurel I think but keeps a VERY low profile. Gertrude died of lung cancer and is probably dancing nightly for the devil. They made a movie about it but I haven't had the ability to watch it. I hate monster movies. Gertrude and her daughter were real life monsters.

I used to live in Indy and drove by the site of Gertrude's house driving to work. It was a big old house, although kind of ramshackle and not in the greatest area. It was used as a shelter of some sort for a long time, I do believe, and was demolished eventually, I think. It's a very well known case in the area. I could never watch the movie. I read a book about the case and that was plenty.

Add to the list: The Burger Chef Murders in Indy. Another place I used to drive by (it was a Hardee's then) on my way to work at a different job. The Burger Chef Murders are quite a rabbit hole to fall into.

I read an article on the Burger Chef Murders. Very brutal and unsolved. I hope this will someday be solved, but I wouldn't say there is much hope. A bit like the Lane Bryant murder case in Illinois.

Wait now -- The Man on the Stairs, OP... is that making reference to "the man who wasn't there," as in the W.H. Mearns poem -- and per your avatar that man was Lemmy?

I love it!

Not an unsolved case but I would like to see the body of Keith Bennett, victim of Moors Murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, being laid to rest soon. There was some effort a number of years ago to coordinate a public search to locate him on the moors, I registered as a volunteer searcher, but nothing ever came of it.

Brady knew all his life where Keith was, he knew it was his mother's dying wish to be reunited with her boy but he repeatedly refused her. That's a special kind of evil.
All we can hope Ally is that his mum now knows where he is and they've been reunited. Hindley knew where the body was, too and she spent the rest of her life playing victim saying that Brady abused her. She was free from his grasp and could have told someone where Keith's body was.

Where is the boys on the track case, based? I dunno if I have heard of that one and I'd like to read up on it.

The Peggy Johnson/Racine Jane Doe case, though solved, still burns my butt. How can one human treat another human that badly over the course of 4-5 years? Unbelievable how mankind has become.

There are many but the top of my list is Heaven Lashae Ross fromNorthport, Al . Very interesting and heartbreaking case that I feel should have been solved !

The police like to say that murderers always leave part of themselves
behind and that there are no perfect murders, but there seem to be
so many cases that are unsolved---Jon Benet, Kyron Horman and so
many others---to me these cases represent perfect murders because
they cant prove who did it and it bugs me---those are just two that
i dont think will ever be solved
