Who's Who in Cold Cases

My name is Eve Carson. I have just started a cold case thread for my sister-in-law Joan Webster. Her unresolved 1981 murder in Boston, MA was highly publicized and sensational. After 10+ years of in-depth research into the case, I believe the case is solvable. The topic has been presented twice at the International Forensic Research Conference. I will be laying out the case on the thread and hope others can benefit from what I learned to find answers in tragic loss. I welcome everyone's input and he. EC

Hi Eve, I am familiar with Joan's case due to my extensive Zodiac Killer research. Look forward to hearing what you have to say, and hope your sister's case is solved one day

There is a new book on the Colonial Parkway Murders, 'A Special Kind of Evil: The Colonial Parkway Serial Killings' by true crime authors Blaine Pardoe and Victoria Hester out now. Well worth reading.

Thanks for that info. This case is another one I've long been interested in. Hope that your family gets justice one day soon, and that her murder as well was all the other Colonial murders are solved

Hi my name is Deborah I live in king county Washington. I've worked at a large casino as a security officer for almost 17 years. My Son Austin Jerrel Renshaw has been missing since 2003 from Maple valley Washington. His car was found abandoned at Chinook Middle School in Seatac. My heart is broken he was my only son. No arrests were made but there has been several persons of Interest. Our family has waited 13 year's for someone to come forward but still to this day nothing. The king county cold case unit was closed a few years ago. Due to lack of funding a very sad day for all of us with missing loved ones in king county. No new clues have come forth. But our family remains dilligent in solving Austins case.

Welcome!! Despite the circumstances that brought you here, we're happy to have you posting. Here is the thread for your son http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ing-Glen-27-Oct-2003&highlight=Austin+renshaw

We are newbies to this whole process and just had a quick question. Not sure if this is the best place to post it, but we figured we'd give it a shot. We just started investigating our first cold case and are drafting our request to the sheriff's office for whatever records are available for release. Do any of you have any suggestions on what specific type of records we should request. We just don't want to forget anything. We would appreciate any advice you may have for us. Thanks so much!!

Hey ya'll! I am known as Zoe online, and I live in Texas right now working as a MLS at a large teaching hospital. I found this community just recently, and I am completely fascinated by everything on here. There are a few murders that I am interested in that I don't think have been posted yet from out in Colorado.

Hi! I'm Traci. I'm in Tennessee. I'm a real estate/corporate paralegal. I'm looking for information on Elizabeth Diane Vaughn who disappeared in 1992. I'm looking to see if the only suspect in the case, her soon to be ex-husband, is the cause of her disappearance or if her disappearance could be related to the Red Head Murders. We have two missing women in my county who disappeared within the time frame that the serial killer was active, but so far they haven't been connected. I know Diane's brother and they have long suspected her husband as the #1 suspect but have found no remains and no connection to him to her disappearance other than circumstantial information.

Hello everyone!

I'm a 20-something part-time college student studying to be a medical office assistant. I have a Bachelor's in Social Work under my belt but I believe learning should never stop.

I've always being interested in watching CSI-type shows, real or fake. After visiting this site a few months ago, I decided to finally join.

Hi. I'm new here. I'm drawn to a 19 year cold case, Belinda Peisley from Katoomba. I'm a volunteer researcher in Family abuse and violence. Currently working a really exciting project that I hope will solidify my future. It's been a tough two decades, 5 kids, two unhealthy relationships, educational hurdles and other issues. I've come 360, it's taken 10 years, I've found some unexpected passions, this is one. I'm great believer of personal responsibility, just own it. I'm hoping to find and obtain decent info that helps this stalled, I believe, investigation.
My interest in this case is I was raised in the mountains, I went to school with some of the players, person's of interest. Two boys need to know what happened to their mum. I think, most are parents now. We need to appeal to that, only need one good witness to break. Tho understanding as much as I do, it also has potential to push into a 'lash out' response vs truth revealing. Thankyou for having me.

Hello, everyone! I've been on WS for about a year. I follow the Joan Risch site. I encourage anyone who wants to boggle their mind to read up on it!!!!!

Hi. My name is Tara. I've lurked here and studied true crime (especially serial crimes) for many years now. I'm a stay at home mom and blogger and my kids are old enough now that they don't need my constant attention. The LISK investigation. Is particularly interesting to me. I am also interested in a fairly high profile murder case that was never solved in my hometown of Monroeville, Al. The victim (Ronda Morrison) was a school mate of mine. A man was charged and remained on death row for 6 years before getting released because he was innocent. Nothing else seems to be done since then. I know pretty much everyone in that town and everyone's stories. I am surprised that she isn't I. The cold case files here. A couple of books have been written about it and numerous tv stories. (60 min etc)
Thank you for allowing me to join and learn!

Thank you dotr! Lol Yes, got that name from my best friends mom. She used to say to me “princess you oughta do something about that” in almost very conversation she ever had with me.
Thanks for the link. That us pretty much where her story ended. They released the wrongful accused from prison then she was forgotten about. From that point on the only thing outsides (media etc) wanted to talk about was the accused and the racial aspects. We all still want to know what happened but even a pic of her online is hard to locate.
I'm going to learn my way around and dig a little deeper once I learn the ropes.
