Yes, that does look like a typical nail polish remover container.

I am behind, getting online late this morning. But what does this mean? How does this become part of the criminal charges? Stalking?

Perhaps just inartful phrasing; not literally part of additional criminal charges, but that the criminal complaint would include information relating to those questions.

Considering the above car statements. I don't think LE had any clue or leads initially on this case and clearly they were looking for different cars than thought to be.
2010 Ford Taurus looks nothing like a 2008-2014 Challenger... IMO

Unless some of the other vehicles in the yard are similar.. my guess is a guy like JP used just 1 car all day/everyday. Cars sitting in yards like that in wisconsin are typically in need of work or just to lazy to get rid of.

All IMO

I honestly do believe they checked out the cars in question, it was just that they weren't connected. MOO, those cars appeared on security footage from somewhere (possibly the casino) in a time period consistent with how long it would take a car to drive from the Closs house to that particular location.

It just happened to turn out, though, that they weren't involved.

I have a question, probably already discussed, sorry haven’t been able to read every post, I’m confused about something:

Since JP had supposedly left the residence to return at midnight, how did he know she escaped and why was he back? Did he maybe have an alarm trip sensor, video monitor knowing she escaped or did he just happen to come back? Thanks to anyone who can help clear this up for me.

I also wondered about a camera or something else that could have alerted him. But now with all of the conversation about the probable lack of internet capabilities, I can't imagine he had wifi to utilize a camera fed to his phone. We may find out differently when all is revealed, though.

Trying to find the pic you're referring to. Can you give more detail? TIA

The photo to look for is the one of the basement ‘cell’ that shows more of the wall. Boxes on left of photo. The photos on that wall are to the right of a salamander wall decoration. Is it ok to post a screenshot?

Does the young woman in the photo on the basement wall resemble Jayme? (Far right of far right photo) It’s difficult to see clearly on a small screen.

Although this entire ordeal is terrible, one comfort I get from these pictures is that she was kept in a semi normal looking atmosphere. I have seen photos of dungeons abductees have been kept in that were much more bare and cold and confined. It appears she had a bed and blankets and stuffed animals and paper and writing utensils etc. It also appears she had a window and heat, the room is not the size of a closet, and she may have been allowed to move around the house. Please don't think I'm downplaying this situation at all but i'm hoping this arrangement of where she was kept was somewhat less traumatizing for her than an alternative could have been... Also seeing a game of monopoly set up in the living room and a bottle of nail polish remover beside the couch I wonder if she spent a good bit of time in the living room?

Why is this? Because of the need and costs for transportation, officers etc. For his own safety? All of the above?
Plus, why would his atty's prefer he be in person?
Video is used mostly because of safety issues. Our court fought long and hard for it and it wasn't until a defendant being brought in head butted the officer and injured others that is was instituted. There's alway a danger involved in bringing defendants to court. Especially when they were usually brought in groups (necessary to get them there on time). There are other advantages as well. Courts have to pay the sheriff's department for transport so it saves money. But generally video is quicker and safer for all.

To us, I think this is completely random. And of course her family had never heard of him, they would have had no reason to have heard his name. But not random to him. He knew them, and likely knew a lot about many of her family members.

This was in no way random to him.

He's one scary scary little man.

IMO

Should be ok as long as you give the link
WAIT didn't read the screenshot part so not sure. You can click on the pic and then click link address and enter that in the message

Not in my opinion. To me, she looks more like the girl in this photo, but it could be anyone.

Jayme Closs kidnap: Man in custody named as Jake Thomas Patterson | Daily Mail Online
The girl in the photo is his sister, I think she sort of resembles Jayme..

I had read that JP's dad did visit him in the house while Jayme was hidden and that he had no idea she was there. The investigators believe him. I wonder what JP would have done had his dad discovered her. Kill him?
Very interesting, kkdj - do you remember where you saw this? Much appreciated!

There’s a bottle of finger nail polish remover in one of the den pics. It’s in a bowl. Don’t people use nail polis remover to make drugs? One time at Walmart i was buying 5 containers of it along with an entire basket full of 5 of everything toiletries. We have 5 kids so i buy in bulk nd store it all in a big closet.

Anyway, the checkout lady would only allow me to buy 2 nail polish removers at a time of maybe it was 4- i can’t remember. I’ve heard they do the same with Sudafed because use that in drug labs?? I didn’t ask the check out girl why. I just said ok. Anyway, why do you think he has nail polish remover in that bowl?

Oh. I didn't realize that. Thank you.

No problem. I have no idea why but it sounds like video appearance is common--it is just an initial charging hearing right--to show there is enough cause? maybe his attorneys wanted him out so he could leave his cell for a few minutes (i would bet he wants a minute of freedom) or so they can show the public emotion and media involvement to motion for a change of venue if he appears in person? Just guessing. Safety would be a guess otherwise for the denial and they probably have all sorts of deputies and personnel probably already on OT and media all over this little town or camped outside, etc. I just wanted to say that the justice center houses both courtrooms and the jail so transport isn't one of the issues I don't think.

What about his family members? Maybe they drive similar vehicles to the black SUV and reg Challenger..

I think that picture is of his sister.
Although, you did get me looking at more pictures and I just realized Jayme resembles his mother. Same size/build, green eyes, long wavy blond hair and similar big smile. How creepy is that?
I must be blind lol. I am only seeing a mirror
ETA Found it! There was a black band across the top I had to x out. TY!
