My friend’s son is LE and he patrols. His shift may be ten or 12 hours. I forget. Not in Wisconsin. He has so many days on and then several days off.

Thank you, elektroangel. :) From the link:

“We’re looking back a little farther in their social media and phone records,” said Fitzgerald. “We’re going back further, seeing who they called maybe 60 days ago to see if there's something that maybe triggered this a while ago. Obviously, we didn't find anything recently so we're looking a little wider now.”

At the FBI headquarters in Milwaukee, a team of video specialists is piecing together more than 80 pieces of surveillance footage.

Fitzgerald told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS he was expecting an update on that Tuesday but it wasn't finished. He said the video will become more valuable once they have a suspect.

If they get a credible lead, he said more state and federal resources will be available at a moments notice.

    WHAT?
60 days ago would have been TWO WEEKS before the crime?!?

Please tell me they didn’t only look at calls made in two weeks leading up to the crime. I’m misreading this, right?

They need to be looking at months... years even!!

I’m sure he meant 60 days prior to the crime. Saying “ago” was likely just a slip-up.

FWIW . . . I think there was an overwhelming amount of information and tips for LE to examine on this case. There must be something causing them to zero in on the 60 days prior to the crime.

Regarding Fitzgerald's video comment, maybe they have a suspect(s) in mind, and need to ascertain this person's involvement both on the video and through social media records.

Does anyone know how far the Closs residence is from the Sheriff’s office. I am thinking it must be close or deputies were nearby to be able to get to the Closs house so quickly.

Exactly. I believe the suicide situation was suggested by the officer based on what he saw from his car, the body lying in the doorway. Three minutes after that he is calling in with new info about the door being kicked in. Then again, a few minutes later, about finding a second body.

Likely just video of the highway. Dozens and dozens of cars. Once they have a suspect and know what type of car they drive, they can look at that video and likely identify the car heading to and from the crime.

    This.

I tried saying this before, but mks says it so much better.

Putting suicide as the "cause of death" completely aside....its a homicide.

    BUT....

    1:03 - possible suicide attempt
    1:04 - apparent suicide

WHAT gave the officer reason to believe there was a "possible suicide attempt"?

Next call was "apparent suicide". Imho, the WHAT in my above question is the reason they called it "apparent suicide".

It wasnt just seeing feet. And it wasnt because thats the kind of call these guys are used to.

Imho, There was something there that made them think that a suicide attempt was possible. What was that?

Ignoring this tiny "what" could possibly be big for the way we look at this as it could be evidence to the case, even if it was initially misinterpreted.

This post is NOT about whether he comitted suicide or not, its about WHAT could have possibly initially gave the officers reason to believe it was.

Thanks Mks for helping me put that better into words.

It is my understanding that those records can be obtained with a search warrant. The providers have the info.

My issue is they are going to go back "maybe" 60 days. Not a definite. Also that isn't a long time. If my family was in this situation and they only went back 30 days they wouldn't find anyone angry with us. If they went back to September they would find my marine corps BIL and his wife angry and cutting ties. Who's to say Jayme didn't have an internet boyfriend 3 months ago that her parents found out about? Grounded her from devices without their supervision, etc. If they only searched back the past month it seems really negligent on their part.

    1:03 - possible suicide attempt
I Thought we have gone over this a hundred times already. There were no guns at the scene (we know this) so that is not why. We also know that it wasn't a suicide. If you think it matters so much then you have to put a few scenarios in your head and go with a theory because we just don't know, we were not there. Maybe one day the officers involved will do an interview and let us know but until then, a general consensus has been made by a few of us that the responding officers seen a body and that was how it looked as they were approaching the stairs. Once they reached the body, that changed their narrative.
    1:04 - apparent suicide
This is not another officer (or even the same officer) saying apparent suicide. This is the actual dispatcher saying that she is paging Barron EMS for an apparent suicide, based on what the first responder told her.

I think they need to look into anyone that has ever been to the Closs home as well. Periferally, like odd job doers, Jack of all trade types, who are on the fringe of society, and may have adiction problems, or trouble with the law. Could be someone the family tried to help, by giving them work. Ie remodel, repair, landscaping etc.
I have a strong sway toward this theory, Imo.
My mind keeps coming back to this.
