Precisely. And suicide is way more common than a double murder and a possibly missing kid. I can see how that extrapolation was made by a first responder.

Something made the 911 dispatcher think this could be a suicide. They hear a call with yelling. Why a suicide? Was there a shot they heard? I have to believe there was a shot. A lot of yelling could be anything but why would your first thought be suicide? Why would you think a possible fatality self inflicted or not?
The sheriff did say this early on:I agree. I don't believe LE stated she is alive. For every piece of evidence that is reported by a source outside of the Sheriff's office, consider the source.
yelling came from call log.....and 'help' came from RO interview with Joan.I thought the only audible word was “help”, or has that been debunked with only “yelling” being the official word? I can’t remember.
Okay, but I still don't believe the facts point to the incident beginning before Dad's arrival. How did the perps get inside? Did Mom open the door late at night when she was alone with her girl?
If there was no evidence of forced entry, how did they enter? Why didn't Mom call 911 earlier if they had been there for awhile already?
Unless their front door was cheap or really old, it’s really hard to kick in exterior doors because they usually have steel in them. How do I know this? I locked myself out of the house, with my phone inside and no neighbors home. I attempted to kick in the door, also tossed myself into it-didn’t even budge. Also, it had a glass screen door, which is the one they took, right? So the glass was in place. The perp opened the glass door while kicking in the main door? It’s just not that easy to do. Of course, if the door was a junky old rotting piece of wood, that’s a different story. Or, this is a big, strong, guy.
Jumping off your post, this reminds me, has anyone mapped out all the nearby cell towers yet? I don't know how to find the cell towers but I know in other cases the cell towers have been put on the case map. It would be nice to know how many towers are in the area and what the reception is like.
On a related note, I keep wondering how good cell reception was inside their house. If someone was trying to break down the door for several minutes (or shot James at the door right away) I would think the first thing Denise would do would be to call 911. Unless their phone/internet lines had been cut and it was hard to get a decent cell signal in the house. Maybe that's part of why Denise went in the bathroom? Trying to get a better signal? Or if Jayme was hiding with her mom's phone trying to get a call through, could it be why the call ended, due to poor signal? MOO.
Or know of others that have her[/QUOTES
i think she was trying to help the patents at least the momI truly don't have an opinion yet but if the person on the call was screaming "Jayme" LE could assume she was in the house during the murder but not necessarily during the 911 call.
The sheriff did say this early on:
Fitzgerald said investigators still have a "100 percent expectation that she's alive," but that even though they've received more than 400 tips, none have been of a credible sighting.
Maybe it was a combination. He tried to pry open the door, loosened the brass or metal plate that is near the lock, ( the thing that's screwed into the wall, I don't know what it's called, but it is usually where the lock is) and then kicked it open? JmoInteresting. That looks more like a wedge being used to pry open the door rather than it being kicked in, IMO.
Still doesn’t make sense. Find the second body then, if suicide was the officer’s first thought, classify as murder-suicide. Why classify initially as possible suicide -
Thank you so much Whiskers6!Hiya everyone- getting ready to start the next thread. I am working on a (warning: massive) post to start off the thread with a bunch of facts, statements from LE, etc. I will include this. Should be ready to move over within the next 20 mins or so.
I assumed the op was referring to the unsub(s) waiting for reward money (theory.)

Atleast for a period of time.Like I mentioned before, I don't think you raise this much hell unless you plan on keeping her alive.
Maybe JDC was shot in the mouth or the head, and LE’s first impression and communication was suicide, even though they hadn’t found a gun or additional rounds or anything or anyone else yet. If the 911 operator first classified it as a suicide, maybe it was nothing more than an error in judgment based on what was heard. Unless the 911 operator heard a shot or some other information that a person was dead, it’s unclear.Still doesn’t make sense. It’s a major roadway leading to and from a casino. I know it’s not bumper to bumper LA traffic but I stand by what I said. Enough traffic that a single car wouldn’t be noticeable to officers arriving.
I thought that might be the case too, but you'd like LE would be scouring the land immediately around the house over and over if they thought she fled on foot.
I can't figure out why they say they don't think she was abducted, IIRC, but yet say they are hopeful she is alive. She is also not a runaway. What are the alternatives other than abduction, runaway, or deceased?
jmo, speculation only
If that happened, I wonder why mom and J didn't run out the back door. Maybe they did and there was an accomplice out back?
Oh yeah, I absolutely don’t think they have any evidence that she is still alive.100% expectation means something different than 100% proof though. I have 100% expectation that my dog will behave when we go to the park but there's no way I will know until we go. I have no proof he will be, only my past experience that he's usually good.
It is LE protocol to assume all missing persons are alive until evidence is presented that they are not. They are running a rescue mission until they have reason to believe the person is no longer alive.
