See here’s what I don’t understand. Baby was 3 weeks old when social workers started trying to reach them. If jaundice was a concern the alarm should have come far far earlier.

I wonder if it was due to domestic violence in the home that the social worker was involved?

I hope the family is right but I sure wish she’d verify they are okay if they are.

I am hoping she is safe and hiding out. The father has quite a record and wasn't supposed to be at the property... A lot of things not adding up. The comments on the LE FB post are so conflicting. Scratching my head!

Yes, that's why I'm wondering if that's the real reason. Because the jaundice reason seems disingenuous at best. If the family KNOWS the baby doesn't need medical attention for jaundice and the cops are saying he does.... I can see why the family would immediately go on the offensive.

It would feel like you needed to defend Tracy immediately while being in an abusive relationship and trying to get out is much more understood. I also think that if they had the medical documentation, an Amber Alert could be issued. We've seen them for less when mom takes off with a newborn. So it's really not adding up here.

La Crosse Police Department still searching for missing woman and child

Tracy Cadogan and her one-month-old son were reported missing December 27.

Police officers say the missing child is in need of critical medical attention.

City of La Crosse Police Department Just an update...We have not spoken to Tracy directly and we have no information that the child has been seen by medical staff. We do have credible information that she is still in the La Crosse area and we do still have welfare concerns for the child.

A K-9 searching the Safari showed a positive indication for drugs, and a comprehensive search revealed the following:

• About 25.5 grams of THC/marijuana individually wrapped in 14 baggies and another container in a black purse that Cadogan later admitted was hers.
• 51 clonazepam pills in the purse.
• 20 Alprasolam pills, also in the purse.
• A scale and several small, unused Ziploc baggies.
• A ledger on the back seat floorboard.
• A small, red plastic straw with methamphetamine residue inside.

Cadogan was arrested on three counts, including possession of THC as a repeat offender; possession of an illegally obtained prescription drug, also as a repeater, and possession of drug paraphernalia as a repeater.
