Massive police presence at Walworth County farmhouse

Multiple agencies on site of 'ongoing criminal investigation' in Walworth County

For the record, it isn't unusual for other departments to take over cases in East Troy! They have a small department so they normally double up with Mukwonago or call in other nearby departments for help on a case. It could still be related to the Franklin area because there are a lot of questions floating around about who was in the home at the time but they could also be completely unrelated!

Sources close to the death investigation say the suspect rents the property for hunting purposes.

"As far as I know that house has been empty the last three or four years," said Bob Krabbenhoft, lives nearby.

Sources tell FOX6 News the suspect is a Franklin business owner, who was also a suspect in a recent arson case out of Milwaukee. That arson investigation led them to his Franklin home, according to sources, who tell FOX6 News they found clothes soaked in diesel fuel and blood.

The arson investigation led them to Walworth County, where sources tell FOX6 News investigators found the remains in a burn pit on the property.

A 43-year-old Franklin business owner has been arrested, accused of first-degree intentional homicide after investigators found the remains of two people in a fire pit in the Town of East Troy.

Not sure there is anything new. Video shows crime scene techs and evidence bags at the scene. Possible connection to two missing people from Milwaukee. Also a trailer belonging to "Spot Free Cleaning" Business was towed from the property and they confirmed the owner of that business is the man in jail: Remains of two bodies found in Walworth County fire pit

A 43-year-old Franklin resident and business owner has been taken into custody for first degree intentional homicide, officials say. The arrest is related to an arson investigation being conducted by the Milwaukee Police Department that led to a report of two missing persons.

Officials say it has been determined the suspect that was arrested is connected to the disappearance of two people. Evidence led to a farm-house and land which the suspect leased for hunting located along County Road J in the town of East Troy.
    ---
Authorities were also on scene of an arson case in Milwaukee -- believed to be connected to the case.
    ---
Sources tell FOX6 News, police found clothes soaked in diesel fuel and blood in the suspect's Franklin home. The remains have not been identified yet. What we do know is that the suspect was taken into custody for first degree intentional homicide and also has charges pending in multiple jurisdictions.

A look into the suspect's past shows he's no stranger to law enforcement. He has a prior conviction of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while intoxicated, disorderly conduct domestic abuse, use of a dangerous weapon and receiving or concealing stolen property.

UPDATE: 43-year-old Franklin man arrested after human remains found in East Troy burn pit

Authorities say police have arrested a 43-year-old Franklin man on suspicion of homicide after an investigation into two missing people led to the discovery of human remains in a Walworth County burn pit.

The Franklin Police Department says the suspect was apprehended Thursday, when police executed a search on an East Troy-area farmhouse. He has not been officially charged. Police are attempting to identify the remains.

Reports of the massive search Walworth County prompted Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald to send out a release Thursday saying that it was not related to missing teen Jayme Closs. Fitzgerald was told a few hours later that Closs had been found in the small town of Gordon.

If you watch the video, you can see the truck of the business owner arrested. Their website has been taken down but the Facebook page is still there and you can find more information about the business on Google. Happy sleuthing!

Business owner held after bodies found in burn pit may have white supremacist ties

The man who owns a trailer that was towed from a Walworth County property where the remains of two people were found in a burn pit last week appears to be supportive of white supremacy.

Matthew Neumann, 43, hasn't been formally charged in the case but remained in the Milwaukee County Jail on Monday in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Authorities haven't officially connected Neumann to the burn pit where the remains were found, but a trailer belonging to his Franklin cleaning business was on the rural property when officials descended upon it last week.

    https://eu.jsonline.com/story/news/...suspect-has-long-criminal-history/2571240002/

The wife of the man accused of homicide in Franklin told police she saw a dead body in his truck, which he later tried burning, the morning after the killing, according to a criminal complaint filed Jan. 15.

Franklin business owner Matthew Neumann was charged Jan. 15, with homicide and hiding a corpse after human remains from two people were discovered in a burn pit on a Walworth County property he leases for hunting.

Franklin Assistant Chief of Police Kevin Magno said investigators are reasonably sure the human remains belong to two men, one from Milwaukee and one from Racine, who were employed by Neumann at Spot Free Cleaning, 8581 S. 27th St. in Franklin.

The morning after one of the killings, Neumann's daughter overheard him telling his wife he shot a man "over a pack of squares," an apparent reference to a pack of cigarettes, according to a criminal complaint filed Jan. 15. Magno said an official motive has not been established yet, however.
