Arturo the polar bear who has been dubbed the world's loneliest animal, has found a friend. A stray cat named Oscar has moved into his compound.

'The 900lb captive, whose bear companion died two years ago, has only a 50cm (20in) deep pool, has become a father-figure to Oscar.

The pair keep each other company during the day, cuddle up at night and even share food.'

Campaigners still want to see Arturo move though, as he's kept alone in what they say are unsuitable, very hot conditions in Mendoza zoo, Argentina. Hope he's allowed to take his new friend with him, if he does go.

Hot weather is unbearable for a polar bear. They live comfortable in minus 100 degree temperatures they have very thick fur for that purpose. The poor bear does not even have a deep freezing cold pool to keep cool in. It is not right.
