Ha she anyone here heard about/or used this "recipe" for COVID? My friend just told me about it. In a face steamer you use saline solution, a drop of food grade hydrogen peroxide, and a drop of iodine. You do it twice a day.

My cousin died the 22nd from Covid. He was a pharmacist.
He and his wife became ill after being around someone that had been to an “event”. His wife recovered, he was on a ventilator then fell into a coma from which he never recovered.
I just wish some who feel untouchable would realize they jeopardize many others.

I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin, sending prayers across the miles.
It’s hard for me to understand the mindset of those who feel “untouchable”.

I know Emory University was doing a study where people used nasal rinses with iodine in it. I think it would be more effective than a face steamer. It would get much deeper in the sinus passages. I've also heard of gargling. Someone said Emory was putting iodine in people's sinus cavities when they came to the hospital. Not sure if it's true. But we have lugol's iodine and it's cheap to do it so we are gargling and putting iodine in the sinuses. I've not used in an actual nasal rinse though.

I also read about a study of people who had covid recovering really well after gargling iodine 4 times a day for several days after diagnosis. Let me see if I can find it.

    Various Gargling solutions vs #Covid19 (tiny n=20 study) Viral clearance at day 6 (30 seconds 3 times/day) • 100% Povidone-iodine (1%) • 80% essential oils ~(thymol, eucalyptol, methyl salicylate, menthol) • 20% tap water • 0% non-treated control

EARLY VIRAL CLEARANCE AMONG COVID-19 PATIENTS WHEN GARGLING WITH POVIDONE-IODINE AND ESSENTIAL OILS: A PILOT CLINICAL TRIAL

    worth a try I guess

Just curious— as we’re all talking about what we’re experiencing/seeing it’s helpful to know who’s in the same neck of the woods. :)

Yes, that is a good idea.
Your name helps make it pretty clear. :) Plus, I remember you as one of Shananns's friends. I think you often.

Emory protocol for preop surgeries and hospital staff for a long time prior to COVID had CHG and iodine (chlorhexadine gluconate/iodine) rubs and rinses for certain medical procedure from years back to attempt to decrease MRSA noscomial infections. It was more to prevent spreading vs. worse self infections of MRSA as MRSA can be CARRIED live for a longgggggggggggggggg time in the nasal passages.

MRSA can be carried for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time MOO, but we haven't seen yet for COVID in any documents that I've seen to date. (yes, we see MSM as to recovery of virions that are dead in some studies, but they are not LIVE like Staph is in the nasal carriers.) MOO

It's all new as to whether the initial breathing down into the alveolar sacks with COVID..?

    MOO

Friend of mine had that from taking Claritin.

    Could be dehydration. Be careful!

If you have been given any steroids, that is a side effect.

Or, if you have vision issues at all, vision takes a lot of mental and physical energy. If you are not feeling your best, vision problems are not uncommon.

Until last week, neither DH nor I knew anyone who had COVID. Our long-time painter came to the house for an estimate on some minor repairs and touchups and told us that he and his entire extended family had COVID with two elderly gentlemen being hospitalized for several days. Painter said that the virus was not like any other illness he's experienced, and that everyone seemed to have different symptoms depending on their age. It sounded like the family had COVID in the summer, and all of them recovered.
