Not sure if this is the right place to put this. Below is a link to the Charley Project for missing person Carlene Brown. I read a letter to the editor about this missing woman, and I just hated the thought that nothing has been solved on it. Any ideas? Below also is a link to the Letter to the Editor and original news article.

Her parents and only brother have passed away. How sad.

Wow, yeah, that's really sad, it seems like nobody even remembers her.

I often think of Carlene Brown, I think if we could figure out more about routes that Royal Russell Long drove as a long haul trucker and other places he worked I have no doubt we would be able to recover remains of so many young girls. Everytime I think of my sister Charlotte Kinsey, I also think of everyone of the other girls that I think believe he abducted and murdered.

This is Carlene Brown's page on NamUs.
    https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/14488/2/
It states the circumstances of her disappearance as --
Were the person(s) responsible for Christy Gross's death ever found?

Very scary that all these girls disappeared in the same area and in a short time-kinda like what happened in Idaho.

I'm not familiar with the Idaho cases. Is there a thread about them anywhere?

    Thanks!

I was aware of the Lewiston theater murders -- my great-aunt still lived there at the time and it did get some press in the east. Hadn't heard of the Pocatello cases though and it does sound kind of similar.

With so little information about either case, I don't suppose they could even check whether the third girl is Carleen.

When I began reading the page for https://identifyus.org/en/cases/9904, especially that they thought that she had been there for more than ten years, I thought that she might me Carlene, but then when I read about the clothing the UID was found in, that did not seem constant with Ms. Brown.

I agree. Size 16 jeans is quite a bit larger than Carlene Brown or any of the other suspected Royal Russel Long victims. Also, Reeboks weren't available in the US at the time. 1979 would be the earliest, and I think those are the new women's line that came out in the early 80's. (Here's a thread about the history of Reebok: http://corporate.reebok.com/en/reebok_history/default.asp)

That's a very unusual ring, too.

I couldn't find a thread for this unidentified woman. I'll dig more thoroughly later and if she's really not in here, I'll start a thread.

I am so sorry about your sister, Cartersmina. I lived in Rawlins for a time in the 90s and never heard about this horrible summer til WS. I'm pretty convinced it was the same man in both cases, too. He was so evil!
My guess is that since the other two bodies were found within just a few miles of Rawlins proper, the other two are in close proximity as well. Wyoming is nothing if not extremely desolate.

Interesing that her friend is spooked by that one spot and wakes up if she is near it-maybe Carlene is reaching out to her.

Hmm, but this is a true crime site and you are fairly active in this thread.

My main interest is finding out who unidentified people are so they can have their names back and go home to their families. So that means I follow missing people as well.
