WY WY - Carlene Brown, 19, Rawlins, 4 July 1974

I was browsing crime watchers for possible Jane does for another missing person and found that Carlene has been ruled out as being 3 UIDs

Namus lists 11*. I'm guessing that means they were able to get a family DNA sample?

* There are 11 cases listed, but it also says exclusions: 12.

Yea but it doesn’t say her dna is available though. Does it? The janes I said were the rocking ham county Jane doe, Virginia Beach Jane doe and the Jane doe that was identified as Linda Pagano

Namus doesn't tell you whether DNA is available any more, so there's no way to tell. I was speculating about whether the number of ruleouts implied they had finally obtained DNA.

Yes, those three are on the list.

How do you view the list of rule outs?

Oh I need an account than. Thank you Carbuff you have been very helpful!

Some of those may be dental comparisons. They do have her dental records. They were in the Strongsville JD case file; Carlene was compared to the remains that turned out to be Linda Pagano. I believe CarlK sent them along to Carlene's case manager, iirc

I never got to view Linda’s Charley project page before Meghan took it down.

NAMUS Rule outs as of 7/28/18, there are a few UID's in VA that are ruling out aganist nearly every MP it appears to be a systematic issue within NAMUS. I

I have submitted Carlene brown as a possible match to the Oneida county Jane doe found in 1986. They look very much alike and Rawlins Wyoming and Malad Idaho is five miles apart so they are a bit close.

I have not received anything from the doe network since I submitted the match. I will submit it to namus soon if I do not get a response.

1330UFID

The victim was found along with two murder victims in Malad Idaho. Police and investigators presumed that the remains belonged to a female who was Caucasian or a multi-race decedent. The gender is unknown but police believe the remains were female. Dental records are available for the UID and dentals are also available for Carlene brown. The only body part found was the skull and sadly tge UID was lost while being shipped to a lab for DNA. I believe this is Carlene. She was never compared to the remains.

This is a comparison of the photographs. The first is the Jane doe that o submitted for Carlene, the second photo is of Carlene which I found in the 1971 rawlins high school year book, the third photo is of Carlene, it was taken in 1973 when she was 18. They have a very strong resembalance.

I have found the reason for why there were no articles from Carlene and Christys disappearances. When they were reported missing police passed them off as runaways because they were 19. Deborah Rae Meyer was also written off as a runaway because she was 14 years old. I don’t know about jayleen dawn banker. There is nothing on her murder case. There isn’t even a picture of her available anywhere. Since the three older girls were written off as runaways police left the matter to the families to investigate.

Newspapers.com lists a bunch of articles from the time of Jayleen's murder, but you have to have a subscription to see them.

I don't know. I don't have a subscription. I just got a list of the papers that had articles about her, organized by state.
