Those rocks have plainly been there more than a a few hours. I could see BL placing them in the area but not LEO's - especially those that may need to come back to the crime scene for something later. I think the poster is stretching the imagination.

I think she really wanted to go see her friend who was having a birthday on the 29th and they were going to meet up with her at Yellowstone (or they had some kind of plans)... if this was the type of relationship where she didn't have much power, she may have felt that if she told LE the truth she would not be "allowed" by BL to go see her friend, or even contact her on her birthday. Turns out that happened anyway.

This was the same friend that said in an interview that BL would not "allow" Gabby to go out dancing with her. She also said he was controlling, but she didn't go into detail.

This is just so sad. I can only imagine what Gabby was trying to deal with in her personal life at the same time trying to make a go of her brand new business idea and van life blog. I rewatched a portion of the LE traffic stop where they were talking to BL, he actually told the police officer she was "working on her little blog" that morning. He even diminished it to the cops.

What? During the traffic stop? He didn’t get GPs phone out of the van….she had her phone….didn’t she? He got his phone out for the officer.

If don't know whether he is the type of guy that avoided work or not. That is an interesting question though, whether he has always been supported by his parents or by Gabby's travel blog. Has he ever had a full time job since high school graduation?

IMO, his current lawyer is not a specialist in criminal cases. Seems he is better know as a RE lawyer in NY. Any attorney (particularly of a guilty client) will rightful advise his client to remain silent.

If someone is arranging cash for him, there will be some type of trail.

Indeed it will interesting, but I wonder how narrowed-down the TOD will be. Her little body was been out there for several days, IMO. Low heat and low humidity would help preserve it. I do think TOD is going to be important, so I feel sure the M.E. will try to narrow it down as much as possible.
I'm hopeful they will release at least some details from the autopsy -- and soon -- but we'll have to wait and see on that one, too.

My best guess is 400ml a tank, so 6 or 7 stops minimum, if starting with a full tank. I'm guessing at least 8 stops. I hope the FBI has as much video evidence as I suspect.

I doubt very much it’s where she was actually found. She was found across the creek and up a wash on the flats, so to speak. I stated the cross may have been put there by a camper. A memorial some kind soul made because they knew what happened. It’s hard to ignore choppers, news, ME vans when camping. They closed the area off but I doubt they made everyone already there leave since the area is dispersed and the sites are large. I think the campers with the red truck were closest and they were probably 1/4 mile from the van. Which BTW was not parked in a camping site. It was just in a pull off area.

I can’t agree with you more. I’ve not been gripped by a case like this for so long.

Correct. His interview was done before the discovery of her body.

You're blending parts of what happened.

You stated that Gabby wasn't given a safe place to speak, she was, as clearly evidenced on the bodycam footage. She was led to the safety of the police vehicle first, which was a suitable distance away from her van and out of earshot of BL. That LEO wanted to hear from her first and encouraged her to be honest and tell him what happened. She could have at any time said she was scared and needed to get away from him.
LEO did give her the opportunity to disclose this safely.

Separately, I am very aware of how DV/ DA victims are beaten down and fearful, that they will minimise, take the blame and not speak up.
This is separate to your initial comment claiming Gabby wasn't given the chance to safely speak however.

He also asked if he could go to jail instead of Gabby.

My thought in regards to hitchhiking: after he killed gabby he went on his “hike”, got picked up by the Tiktok girl and told his story about his fiancée being back at the van because he thought someone would have found her by then. When he returned from his “days hike”, he’d be coming back to the police and crime scene and there was his alibi. Maybe he figured the people who picked him up would tell him about the dead body found? When he got back to the van and she hadn’t been found he came up with a new plan, though driving the van to florida alone was probably the last thing I could think of to give the impression of innocence

I don't believe the cross is exactly where she was found, either. They've plainly been laying there for longer than a few hours. However, the gravel you saw in the aerial videos was part of the river bank *I think*. Also, where they set up the canopy was not directly over the body. He remains were off screen.

there was paint around the area. I doubt BL would’ve bothered and if he did, I don’t imagine LE would leave it intact. I would suspect it was done by her uncle or LEO.

I don't know if you read the article, but Hulls said it was more of a mental health crisis than a case of domestic violence. So even though she lacked the Yuck it Up methodology, she came to the same result the Yuck It Uppers did.

    From the article...
After consoling Petito, Hulls discusses what to do with her colleagues.

They had several options. With the facts suggesting Petito was the aggressor, they could’ve taken her to jail. But Hulls said the situation appeared to be more of a mental health crisis than a case of domestic violence.

What Petito did to Laundrie “was emotional,” Hulls said. “She shouldn't have done it, but it wasn’t done maliciously.”

“I wouldn't have called (the relationship) unsafe. If we had any reason to think any one of them was in danger, we would’ve separated them,” she said.

Ha, as if that would do any good!

It doesn't matter that she was "given the opportunity to speak with LE and tell them what happened" ....thats NOT how it works!

    Let me explain:

A DV victim is never going to say anything to incriminate her abuser with her abuser sitting a few yards away!

It would make the situation 100 times worse afterwards when everyone has gone. The abuse would be worse for daring to tell the truth and expose him!

Plus, when LE pulled them over SHE was seen as the abuser, despite the 911 caller telling police HE who was hitting HER.
