This may have already been pointed out, but it is a 36-hour drive from Jackson WY to North Port FL -- roughly the route BL would have had to take to drive the van back to his parents'. That would be a very long two days, or more likely 2.5-3 days of driving.

MOO: So, if he arrived in North Port on Sept 1, and the text about being in Yosemite was sent on Aug 30, it is likely he was driving home on the 30th, 31st, and 1st -- or possibly just the 31st and 1st. But that would have been a very long drive.

yes. It was a very long drive to do in that short of a time. But I’ve done worse.

Like what? They might have decided to stay with friends and family to get out of spotlights. With so many resources being used right now, LE not going to be able to keep as close eye on them. They are not Eve POI, are they?

We don’t know. But after dropping the Mustang off, they left again followed by a caravan of LE.

I am going to ask what may amount to be two dumb questions right now, and one is a 'what if' scenario:

If the autopsy is complete and the Coroner has determined very close to approximately what date Gabby passed, then couldn't LE issue an Arrest Warrant for BL based on the fact that he, at the very minimum, misdirected the investigation by sending text messages from her phone to people after she died?

Although they cannot yet prove he is the one who sent the messages, what if their cell phones pinged together at the same time in the same place multiple times after the date she was determined to be deceased, it would, at the very least, indicate that he was likely in possession of her cell phone and that he tried to impersonate her by using her phone.

I realize that this scenario involves him not having the presence of mind to shut off his own phone during his drive back to Florida. (I don't believe he could resist not checking his own phone for several days.)

In Christina Morris's murder trial, some of the evidence presented was cell phone records that showed the pinging of Christina and her abductor's (EA) cell phones were close together for a few hours after she was last seen with him on surveillance tape. (He was the last person who had been seen with her and claimed he left her close to her car in a parking garage.)

Also, second question is could LE currently have an Arrest Warrant for him and just not be making it public ?

JMO

This isn't a bad theory, but it could be a "chicken or the egg" scenario.

That is to say, it might be necessary to prove that Brian and only Brian could have texted from Gabby's phone, which is part and parcel with proving whether or not he murdered her in the first place; that is to say, his defense counsel could try to come up with/argue a putative SOD ("some other dude") who stole both Gabby's phone and Gabby. Does that make sense?

News media confirmed it was investigators that created the large cross of rocks where Gabby was found. Her father just mad a smaller one as well.
The first reporter who found and tweeted about it prematurely said it was made by investigators but later deleted the tweet. By then media already caught wind of it so IMO there’s still a chance it wasn’t made by them. Wouldn’t it technically be a disturbing of the crime scene for investigators to have done it? I personally believe the cross was already there and IMO, made by Brian.

You know how "a gun is always loaded"? Likewise, a gator is always hungry. These are things, for your own safety, you have to assume whenever one is pointed your way. JMO etc.

When we moved to Florida we were told to assume/presume there is at least one gator in every body of water, including storm water retention ponds, etc.

The Laundries did leave this morning in the red truck. They returned home with the Mustang. And then left again in the truck.

Gabby Petito's stepfather creates stone cross memorial at exact site where daughter's body was found | Daily Mail Online

The above article states that Gabby’s step dad, created the cross and added flowers. IMO, the authorities let the step dad visit the site, created the cross and add the flowers before the allowing anyone else to come into the search area and letting the public back in. So at first it seemed as it was LE who created the cross but it was the step dad. He quietly represented the family for Gabby.

No. The step father created the cross under the trees on Wednesday.

The original, larger cross by the creek was already there and the creator is unknown. It was not done by anyone related to the family or search teams.

There is no doubt in my mind that LE believes he is in that preserve. I also think they have evidence that he is there. I think they may be waiting him out. The longer he stays in there, getting hungrier, more tired, weaker, the more compliant he will be when he comes out, and the more likely he may be to confess to what he has done. LE is stalking him. I think it's possible they have detected him with thermal imaging at night and they just don't share that with us. MOO but this is a big cat and mouse game.
BBM. I’ve more or less been leaning toward him being in there — possibly deceased from suicide— because the FBI is extremely intent on days of heavy-duty searches with all sorts of technology.

The only thing which confuses me is the information yesterday from the neighbors who said the Laundries had stocked up the camper and left with BL for 3 days — making it sound as though they’d left him somewhere with provisions, so he could be on the run. Your thoughts? And yours, @MassGuy ?
