Ok, so now we know BL left his parents home leaving wallet and phone behind and his parents waited 3-4 days before reporting him missing? Fishy as heck IMO. If a loved one leaves my house without a wallet or phone I’m calling the po po immediately!

Quick stop in this morning to say Happy Friday! And we keep debating how he could change his look and blend in right now. I just saw a guy walking on the side of a highway wearing a do-rag on his head and a face mask. On a bridge over a swamp and probably 400 cars have passed him without giving him a second look. And I couldn’t begin to describe him even with a second look. (But I could pull him off my dash cam but BL ain’t in my neck of the woods for sure.:p)

In the motion for the detention hearing, prosecutors state that there is a "serious risk" that the "defendant will flee" as well as a "serious risk for obstruction of justice."

"The court should detain the Defendant because there are no conditions of release which will reasonably assure" Laundrie's appearance in court or the "safety of any other person and the community," according to the motion.

A pre-trial hearing in the case would allow prosecutors to argue that Laundrie should be detained immediately when and if investigators find him.

The motion requesting the detention hearing was filed on the same day that Wyoming's District Court issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie in connection with the disappearance and death of Petito, 22.
Federal prosecutors want to hold a hearing to detain Laundrie — even though investigators don't know where he is

Fantastic post! Certainly points out that it's far more likely that he killed her before his camping along the Snake River than after. I think he probably killed her on the 26 or 27, freaked and took off up Spread Creek towards the river on foot. While backpacking, composed himself and formulated a plan. Cleaned up at Coulter Bay, hitched back to the van, and took off like a bat out of hell. Why that is the plan he chose, which seems so ill-advised, is anyone's guess. Unless those family bonds are so strong he knew he'd have their help.

Family is exempt from what? Can you please cite this statute? I mean, are you saying that in the state of Florida you can aid and abet felony murder and/or be an accessory to felony murder after the fact and it's legal if you're related to the person?

And the reserve might have those motion-activated cams for monitoring wildlife that he might be seen on.

You'd be surprised. I'm part of a Disney planning group and I'm a Disney Travel Agent - big crowds the past few days.

The funeral is set for this weekend though. I can’t imagine they’d have one without her being there in some capacity. /JMO

In Florida, it's someone who spends the winter months down in Florida, but the rest of the year in their primary residence somewhere up north.

He could be holed up with a friend. If I had someone here, highly highly unlikely anyone would find. And folks here don’t watch much news. Not to mention scads of young men look just like him here. I have no doubt he could just start over in my neck of woods if he had one person here to be his stepping stone or if smart enough (which I doubt) he came into town himself. I hope LE checking out all of family contacts.

True. But he could claim he took her cards and left her because they had a fight, and when he left her she was alive. That would be theft at the most, right? MOO
