has anyone read the book BL was reading on the trip in the desert areas: Annihilation? Seems like he wanted to make people think GP had gone to Yosemite and would not have cell service and he expected that she wouldn't be found or ID'd in Wyoming. Just wondering if that's how things went in that book.

Ah ha! I kept wondering why 'Yosemite', and if GP's mom actually meant to say 'Yellowstone'. But duh! If he wrote Yosemite, it would have been to make her mom think GP was in Cali.
That little turd.

Confirmation bias?

They took the man seriously, the woman not so much.
It was kind of confusing, though, because they had two reports--one said Brian slapped and punched Gabby, one said Gabby slapped Brian. One of them had said he thought at first they might be "playing". Gabby's story matched the guy's version who said she was the one slapping Brian. I guess that's why the cop was going back and forth about what to do with them.

The FBI would know if there was any or ever had been blood in the van and if she was killed in the van cadaver dogs would have alerted. Mind you, we don't know what they found.
Understood...respectfully, I am not asking about blood evidence. I am curious about GSR. I know GSR can be transferred as well. For example, one could fire a gun from inside a van and the victim not be inside the van.

Can someone link me to the full version of the missing person report for Gabby? I couldn't find it in the media thread.
As far as I have found it’s completely redacted in FL (buried as an incident report IMO ) and I’ve not found Suffolk County’s’ - has anyone ? I would like to add it to the media thread if so

There was the case of the little girl adopted from India ?Shereen whose body was hidden in a culvert and they could tell the date of death pretty accurately by the state of decomposition and the insects colonizing the body. I can't remember what her COD was, but it was proven that she did not die from choking on milk as her parents claimed.
Yes! I've been trying to remember which case I learned about this on. Sherin Mathews. What a heartbreaking case, but they were able to really nail down a lot, in spite of decomp.

And how did they even know the Van was back without gabby on the 10th? I want the release of all these calls
This is speculation, but an educated guess at the least--- I think that her family had been calling BL and his parents and his sister, asking for news about Gabby because they couldn't reach her. They tried for over a week and finally Gabby's dad drove over to their home---and saw the van.

At that point he had to be very angry and confused that no one was answering their phones.

"Are you ok with letting her have the van"? And the next time the cop, talking to Brian, says "your" van. But it was HER van he was trying to steal. I don't know how one cop can be so wrong for 45 minutes, completely ignoring what the witness said about play fighting, BL trying to take her phone, and shutting her out. And not even mentioning that the other witness said differently.

So for 45 minutes he completely twists it all, then pulls the rabbit out of the hat "saving" her re non attempt to hurt him. All but taking the other cop by the hand.

So in a way he saved her but in the end Brian got her anyway.

There are really no words. The separation anxiety was Gabby from her van and belongings.

Sounds like they didn't even run the tags if they call it "his" van.

Permission was given to post this link. For anyone who might be concerned about the medical examiners and forensic science specialists not being able to find a COD for Gabby, this gave me hope.

This clip (after a few second introductory pic of GP in Moab) is an in-depth interview with Dr. William Maroney, Chief Medical Examiner from a county in Michigan. He discusses not only the specialists involved and the testing that is likely being done, but also mentions a possibility no other examiner has mentioned: he says she is probably having 2 autopsies. The second is most likely being conducted either at a university, a military base, or perhaps even at Quantico. I found it very insightful, very instructive and educational, and believe it's worth watching IMO.

I can't get over the fact that there are at least four police vehicles, what looks like seven police officers, and they've been sent out there on the report of a man slapping a woman, and yet, no one mentions this at all. It's as if they all dropped from the sky at that point, and not instigated from an incident back in the town..

What am I missing?
At the beginning of this video he actually SAYS he is there because of a report of a man hitting a woman, and soon forgets that he even says that. He throws that completely out, and somehow convinces himself that both reports were consistent. They weren't.

Her name was Sherin Mathews and her COD was listed as homicidal violence.

They said Gabby was hyperventilating. Maybe they considered that as "hysterical"?
As someone who has been in a very similar situation to that Moab incident, I will never understand why anyone would think being upset is anything but normal. Being calm when the police are called to your domestic should be a sign that you're the one who's not emotionally right for the situation. But I bet you're right "hyperventilating" or upset woman is often seen as "hysterical," ime. It's too familiar and too infuriating. Also reactive abuse omg I could go on.

I am not sure that that is true. I think that he badgered the police in phone calls to tell him if the van was there. He lived hours away, by all accounts.

Are the Moab police releasing these clips voluntarily? or ...

Because I was wondering if the Moab police think they come off pretty nifty, and are expecting praise or if they want everyone to see how they (mis)handle these situations........

That's a very good question. I was wondering the same.
