Thanks, great job.

What I noticed immediately
Sep 17 - FBI takes over search in WY (GTNP =Grand Teton National Park)

I'm confused, was the FBI involved before the 17th for GPs disappearance? Was the NPS searching for GP and FBI working on her MPR filed on the 11th in NY?

I thought FBI was involved earlier than the 17th. SB days he spoke with FBI on 13/14 th, BL was missing.

I've followed from the beginning, and now I'm confused.
Moo..
My understanding from JTs interview (on last thread)

Gabby's missing person report issued by Suffolk County, NY - FBI - New York was assisting. Then LE in North Port assisted by FBI Tampa ran the MP checks. An earlier interview with JT stated that they (NPPD) were only assisting til Tuesday evening. I take it that FBI (either Tampa or NY or both) were the lead and NPPD were just kicking their heels til the Friday when Brian's MP was filed with them. In the meantime, FBI - Denver were running the Wyoming team with assist from local LE.

Too many cooks.......

JACKSON, Wyoming — The search continued Friday for Gabrielle Petito in the area of Grand Teton National Park. The 22 year old has not been heard from for weeks.

FOX 13 News arrived in the area Thursday where the FBI is now leading the search efforts.

Police in southern Utah 'actively' investigating possible link between Petito disappearance and double homicide

This is believed to be the last place where Gabby Petito was seen before she vanished.

Fascinating re libel law there.

Logical implication then is if, a newspaper wanted to invade privacy of Petito's that would be fine because Gabby is now also a..... ' public figure when they take on roles of special prominence in society or, as in Laundrie’s case, attain “general fame or notoriety in the community.'

seems strange to me
Different in the UK - where I most definately would take out a restraining order and sue them.

Yes they do, but the one who knows is gone.
So its been said.

What is justice?
When I see it emerge in this case, I'll let you know.
So far, most of it is a narcoleptic stumble through red herrings, suppositions, blaming, shaming, oddball errors and the rotting corpse of a sweet young lady left out in the open like forest litter.
That kind of litter doesn't belong in any forest anywhere any time.
MOO

Rest in peace, dear Gabby.

Watching a news video that showed the police tents, you can pretty well figure out where his remains were found. An area called Big Slough Preserve which is just north of his car. Look at page 2 of:

https://www.scgov.net/home/showpublisheddocument/37043/636706081351830000

Each trail intersection is numbered. Best I can tell, he was found about halfway between markers 149 and 141. He was parked a little below (south) of 149. At the lower right of the yellow marker that represents a bridge (it's in legend).

It would seem logical, he parked and went right up that trail. It must not have been underwater the day he hiked unless he chose to go into a swampy mess. It really seems like that should have been about the first trail they searched. It would be about a 10 minute walk from the car.

I believe Gabby wanted to break up, while Brian was forcing her to opt in.
IMHO
That could have been in the back of her mind, but I really doubt that she would risk his wrathful reaction to that suggestion while they were alone in the wilds and she was totally dependent on him to drive them safely to their destinations. She knew how volatile he was. If she wanted to break it off while she was in SLC, she could have had her dad(s) fly out to rescue her and drive her home. She didn't do that. She must have wanted to continue the van trip. jmo

I think even small things could bring a reaction of anger from Brian. Regardless, nothing Gabby did would justify her death...
He also taunted her about not being able to finish her dream project of the blog. He belittled her and Gabby likely began to believe that the "love" she got from Brian was what she deserved. She may also have been embarrassed to go back to mom and dad after planning this road trip for such a long time and failing.
IMHO

We have received a number of inquiries Tuesday about a false report of DNA not matching Brian Laundrie. Below is the Medical Examiner’s statement on the matter.

Not to be stating the obvious too much but
why the hell did you not run a DNA analysis on whatever part of his anatomy you allegedly have?

It's not like it requires a huge effort or is likely to interfere in any way with any further examination by appropriate specialists?

(I'm going to go to bed now, real slow before this sinks in)

'it was NPPD which put a ticket on the Mustang....and if they saw B leave Monday, which is news to me, then they should have been watching the Mustang and the Park starting on Monday ......it would certainly have prevented all the false accusations wrt to 'hiding Brian' or financing his escape.....

I am thinking along this train of thought. The first mention of FBI is the 17th, but SB was talking to someone with the FBI, on the 13/14th.
JT stated the FBI was in the room when FBI called to ask NPPD to take a MPR at the L home, on the 17th.

Thanks, I know this is correct but the more JT talks the more I think FBI was involved, at some level, prior to 17th.

No but Ashliegh Banfield thinks he ought to have been as they had probable cause due to the van

At the link - towards the beginning of last night's show'

I really enjoyed her interview with SB and this as well. She is exactly right (as well as the person she had one) regarding privilege. Whatever conversations he had with the three of them are not privileged. And laying spousal privilege on top of attorney/client privilege is not determined law. SB has taken a huge risk. It could be to the detriment of the Laundries (who then can go after him) but potentially good for the Petitos. It may mean they found out more information about what happened to Gabby.

Oh my gosh, these two need to get a room. :( This is such an ongoing bad look for NPPD and for the Laundries. Can't everybody stop sniping at each other and just tell the truth? Including fully admitting all the mistakes that were made all around?
