WY WY - Kristi Richardson, 61, Casper, 6 October 2014

I noticed Kristi's face on two electronic billboards in Casper yesterday. The local news has kept her story in the headlines.

I have a really bad feeling about this one, but I've been wrong before and hope I am this time. Praying that Kristi will be found soon.

The last contact with Kristi Richardson was at 7:45 p.m. Monday with a member of her company, according to court records.
After she was reported missing, police searched her house on Tuesday, according to an affidavit filed Thursday in Natrona County Circuit Court.
On Wednesday, they searched her office at the trucking company in the nearby town of Mills that she and her late husband started in the 1970s.
Police spoke with friends family and neighbors, but they didn’t have any idea of the whereabouts of Richardson, 61, according to the affidavit.

The search warrant was executed to determine if there may be “evidence which may show or tend to show the crime of murder or abduction and the cause and manner of injury” and if there is any “evidence which may also show or tend to show motive for the crime of murder,” according to the affidavit.
Tuesday, police searched her house and found a cell phone in her bed, her purse with a large amount of cash, and identification on the kitchen counter, according to the affidavit. “There was no immediately identified evidence of foul play.”

Casper police said they're chasing down leads in the search for a 61-year-old woman who went missing last week.

“We know a little more than we did yesterday,” said Sgt. Zack Winter. “And we’ll know more tomorrow than we do today.”

Police are following up on leads, but Winter declined to say what those leads were.

10 days and no sign of her. Just to state the obvious, it doesn't look like this is going to have a happy outcome.

It would be interesting to know if the cops have any suspects in their sights, or what the possible motive may be.

After this length of time, were it a medical emergency, one would think the searchers would have found her close to home.

It looks as if this may end up being an abduction after all.

The air search was the lead story on the 10pm k2tv news last night. Kristi has definitely not been forgotten locally. I am actually impressed they did an air search. There have been other locals missing in recent years who didn't get even a blink of this aid or publicity. Prayers for Kristi's family to know answers.

The Casper Police Department, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, Casper Fire-EMS, and the family of Kristi Richardson are encouraging people to search their private property over the next few days if they have not done so already, according to a news release from Tim Cortez.

(Casper,Wyo.) – Casper Police Department, Casper College, Casper Fire-EMS, and the Richardson Family will be coordinating a search for Kris Richardson this Saturday from 8:00 am until about 11:00 am.

We will be utilizing some students from Casper College who are in the Fire Science Program. This will be an opportunity for these people who are aspiring to become firefighters, to conduct operations in real scenario. They will be searching in steep terrain as an area of opportunity as no particular areas have been identified by the investigation.

Any other volunteers are welcome to join the planning meeting as there are other areas that can be searched. (more at link)

Friends of Kristi Richardson have not given up their search for her after her last known sighting five weeks ago.
Neither have Casper police, but they are keeping mum about their work, detective John Hatcher said Monday.

“The Casper Police Department is looking into all leads,” Hatcher said, speaking on behalf of Capt. Steve Freel.

“We are not divulging anything we have done or are doing just because it is an ongoing investigation, but we are still actively pursuing this investigation,” he said. “We’re not giving out anything. It’s just too sensitive to get anything out there.”

Meanwhile, Richardson family friend and Casper firefighter Tim Cortez has worked with the police and coordinated several searches.
“The first (objective) is to locate Kris,” Cortez said.

“The second objective is to keep the buzz going,” he said. “And now with us getting cold weather and the snow, what do we do to keep people talking?”

Amber reads the card over and over, hoping to find some hidden meaning. But each time nothing is revealed. No clues. No epiphanies. Her mother dropped off the card at Amber’s house on the day of her 41st birthday. It was their last time together. Kristi “Kris” Richardson vanished from her east Casper home sometime during the next 13 hours...

Now, Amber drives past Kristi’s house at least four times a day. She never stops if she’s alone. She’s terrified to enter the house without Pete. Together, they walk around the house over and over, looking for clues they might have missed...

Staying busy at Eggington’s helps keep her mind clear, Amber said. But people at every table ask about Kristi. It hurts to say there’s no new information, that they’re no closer to finding Mom.
