In lots of situations like this, they wind up not recovering a significant amount of the bones. That’s why I imagine they returned yesterday, but I suspect there are bones much further out than that.

That's what I was thinking. No telling how far away fox, coyote, etc. would take things. Especially at first when, sadly, the body parts could have fed a den. I was thinking maybe that one or more bones were found on that side road, and that could be where a tip off to LE occurred.

I'm confident that a re-arrest will happen in the next few months. Regardless of any new physical evidence, the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming, especially now that we have a body.

In addition to the cracked bedroom door, wasn't there evidence of her journal and something else having been burned in the fireplace? Just more circumstantial evidence, imo.

MOO he kept SOME laces that he said came from those boots, he is foxy. Lots of experience lying.

It never made sense, to me, that he would keep the laces. I wear work boots every day and the laces are always the first thing to go. I’m not going to buy new laces for old boots if I know I’m getting new boots.

The journal obviously incriminated BM otherwise he would have kept it as evidence against SM. I wonder if her daughters knew she journaled?

Here are snippets from the AA regarding him throwing away boots in the hotel dumpster. I believe he told investigators the reason he took them to his room first was because “ the laces were still good and I’m a cheapskate”. He also threw away a camo coat.

Someone upthread posted a map to the exact site where they were digging. I measured from there to the road and it was about 100 yards. Made me wonder if an animal had dragged a larger bone out to the road and that's how they found her.

IMO, finding Suzanne's remains was most important because it has opened the possibility of trying the case in District 12, rather than District 11. District 11 is where all case proceedings up until now have occurred.

District 12 represents the opportunity of a fresh new Judge and Prosecuting Attorney.

I just looked on the Judge's schedule & he is not listed, but it is a hearing via phone - so not sure if it is still on.

In the tweet (post #878 that gliving posted - it says "on the NW side of County Road R."

I have found on Hwy 17. ?? Is that the same road?

I'm just getting up to speed on this case, and saw the 48 hr show.
I get everybody's suspicion of the hubby.
But, what about the DNA of the unidentified male, the documented fact (I think) that hubby was nowhere near?
So confusing...including also her and affair partner's statements to each other that they planned to abandon their families to run away secretly to Ecuador.

Nearly every time I get my oil changed, a service tech enters my car and opens the glove compartment to change out the inside-cabin air filter. Other types of replacements or repairs might motivate a service tech or repair person at the dealership or service station to open the glove compartment to access the vehicle's service manual. If someone were to test my glove compartment for foreign DNA, they'd likely find several examples.

Given the likelihood that neither SM nor BM serviced SM's car so were reliant on others as I have been, AND the lack of that same DNA anywhere OTHER than SM's glove compartment, AND all of BM's lies (ETA: including about the state of his marriage and that SM wanted out) and his obviously staged "important work out of the area" alibi, AND the strangeness of where SM's bike and helmet were found, I attribute no importance at all to that DNA.

In fact, I'd be SHOCKED if there were NO foreign DNA in her glove compartment and would probably then conclude that someone had taken the time to wipe it down.

I wonder, if the shoe laces got a bath in some disinfectant, neat as he is ..... The boots, he threw away, were the boots walking the Moffat sagebrush area, I bet. True Crime stories would have taught him that, IMO.

Well, he SAID he kept just the laces. But given that it is BM doing the saying, who knows whether that is true. He probably just wanted investigators to believe he kept the laces as it would imply he wasn't worried that they'd find something on any laces they might test.

The son and the father took a second to look at each other and the father told him it's okay to be honest and then the son replied honestly that he was aware of some issues.

Thinking of the son and father in light of the discovery of SM's remains (although I would bet they long ago decided that BM had something to do with SM's forever disappearance). BM has introduced such horror and sadness into so many of the innocent lives that were connected with his.
