Investigators said the homeowner fired shots at the teens after they broke into the house through a rear window. Police said an 11-year-old boy was also outside the residence acting as a lookout.

Police say Moore and the 16-year-old broke into the home through a back window while the 11-year-old acted as a lookout. The homeowner, who was home during the burglary, reportedly shot both Moore and the 16-year-old.

The 16-year-old survived but Moore died at the hospital.

I feel for the deceased boy's grandmother pain. But as she said, she saw this coming, knew her grandson was headed down a bad path.

I am sure the still living accomplices had no idea THEY could be charged with their friend's murder because the homeowner is the one who shot him. At 11 and 16 they are probably not aware that under the law, they were committing a crime (felony) where their friend was killed and that makes them guilty in his death.

11 years old. Good gravy, so young to be running the streets with teenagers. I wonder if he is a relation to one of the older boys? Little brother or cousin maybe. Just so young to have such big consequences.

Just heartbreaking. The 14-year-old had a grandmother and father who clearly loved him, but it wasn't enough.

The 11-year-old was too young to fully grasp the risks. I assume they will be getting a lot of help for him and his family so he can go down the right path.
