One-year-old girl found safe at Dubbo police station as questions remain over her disappearance from NSW town more than 100km away

A one-year-old girl missing from regional New South Wales has been located unharmed more than 100km from where she vanished, as police continue to probe the circumstances around her disappearance.

A toddler who vanished from a remote New South Wales town has been located safe and well, bringing a dramatic two-day search to an unexpected close.
However questions remain about who took the child - and why.

One-year-old Hariet Kamlade disappeared from the small town of Molong, around 35km northwest of Orange in the NSW central west, late Tuesday afternoon.

Her last known sighting was on Ridell Street at approximately 5pm.

NSW Police immediately launched a desperate effort to locate the child, raising serious concerns for her safety due to a health condition requiring ongoing medical attention.

Authorities believed she may have been in the company of a man and a woman known to her.

The search stretched across the state, with detectives fearing the child’s condition could deteriorate without urgent access to her medication.

Late on Wednesday night, police confirmed Kamlade had been found alive and unharmed, more than 100 kilometres away.

Usually if a minor is found we would pull the thread, but I do think it is really interesting if we are able to figure out, how is it possible that the child is found so far away! I assume it did not miraculously just started walking and went for an ultra run.

The areas mentioned are within the region of where I live and usually covered by our local paper.

So far nothing has been said of any arrest.

Upon reading the articles it's made it very clear in my mind what has happened.

I should add that our local paper only has one actual paper edition a week now.
Used to be six days but times have changed.

They do have an online presence which is constantly updated though.
I'll keep an eye out fcr anything further re this case.
