Genesis Ariah Mata Go Fund Me

Genesis Ariah Mata
Court documents obtained Wednesday details horrific abuse Genesis Mata endured in the moments leading up to her death. The documents also show Child Protective Services had an active case against Ray Mata because a boy whose name was redacted had been missing school, and when at school, had visible bruising on his arms.

Father, stepmother accused of burning girl, 8, with boiling water, crushing her hand: documents
Genesis’ father, Ray Mata, 31, and Graciela Bustamonte, 27, are charged with with a multitude of felonies including first-degree murder, two counts of torture, two counts of cruelty, child abuse, and aggravated mayhem.

They face additional counts of torture and cruelty for abuse against an 11-year-old boy — his first initial J. and last name Mata.

Genesis’ body was found in a La Quinta Inn bathtub off Buck Owens Boulevard. A scene so gruesome an officer appeared shocked and ordered everyone out of the motel room.

The abuse to Genesis occurred over two days, according to the reports.

Both Mata and Bustamonte at first minimized their involvement and blamed the other for the gruesome injuries. Eventually, however, both admitted to abusing the children. Both saying Genesis died on the night of Aug. 1

Bustamonte goes on to say that she watched as Mata killed Genesis, hitting her in the abdomen and watching her fall unconscious. She did not call 911 or seek medical attention for her 8-year-old stepdaughter, neither did Ray Mata.

Bustamonte stated that she told Mata to pour boiling water on Genesis. After, they told Genesis to put another cup in the microwave to boil more

Police say the child was subjected to severe abuse before her death. According to People, Genesis was burned with scalding hot water, beaten, and whipped. The couple also allegedly slammed the girl’s fingers in a door frame repeatedly, crushing her hand and causing her fingernails to separate.

Bustamonte allegedly told investigators that Genesis died on Friday night, a full day before anyone called 911. She claimed to have witnessed Mata punching and suffocating the 8-year-old, saying he had been beating his children for years. According to the documents, Bustamonte admitted that pouring scalding hot water on Genesis was her idea to make the child “listen” better

This horrific case has shocked the local community and raised serious questions about how the system failed to protect a vulnerable child, similar to failures seen in high-profile child torture cases like the Turpin family.

So heartbreaking. This reminds me of the Takoda Collin’s case. I just don’t understand how law enforcement and social services can fail these children so badly. Children get taken away from parents for so much less.

Why?!?!?! They put more effort into hurting their own children than it would take to give them up for adoption or foster care. If they don't want the children, turn them over to someone who does and be done with it.

This torture is beyond words.

Rest in eternal peace, little Genesis.

Monsters. I'm afraid they will get a plea deal or light prison sentences and walk free with decades of life left, while their horrifically abused child is gone forever.

Death penalty, please, for these sub-humans.
CA does still have the DP, but but it is currently not being implemented or enforced.
The right to breathe should be taken away for these two -- now. Grrrrr.

Beautiful child who is smiling and happy now and forever.

Also hoping the boy is in a safe place now.

Humanity doesn't take care of the little ones. This story is repeated everywhere in the world. In any neighborhood, in any social group.

Yes. Don't get me started on that.

They actually boiled water to abuse the child? What is wrong with these people.

Yes, and get that child away from that horror. Hoping it has already been done.

Bless the children who will be cared for in safe places.
Let them know that there are good and loving care-givers.

Yes, in fact, they made the child HERSELF boil the water!
