The abandoned vehicle was located in the area of Lake Merced Boulevard and Middlefield Drive.

Here's a google map of where the car was located. It is near bodies of water, but it was daylight morning when he went missing so the usual fears of "late night/alcohol overindulgence" in some young men's disappearances isn't a concern for me personally.

Hope he is safe and contacts his family soon.

I don't think we know at what time of day he went missing. All that has been said is that he was last seen driving away from his residence on June 3. After the abandoned car was reported to the police, they went to an address on Silver Ave at 10:15am on June 15, looking for him. It was then that they found out that he had last been seen on June 3, and the people at the address filed a missing person report.

Officers responded to a report of an abandoned car in the area of Lake Merced Boulevard and Middlefield Drive and identified it as belonging to Goff, SFPD said in a statement to SFGATE. When attempting to contact Goff at the 400 block of Silver Avenue near McLaren Park on June 15, officers were told he had not been seen since June 3. “Reporting parties” then filed a missing persons report for Goff, police said.

Thanks! I originally read that as last seen at, when in actuality it was the time the police got involved. Thanks for confirming the timetable as we know it now (still unknown when he actually went missing).
