Circumstances of Recovery: A skull along with numerous human bones were found on a ledge below Basket Dome in Yosemite National Park. The remains appeared to be 3-5 years old.

Well, referring to the pdf document in the immediately
preceding post, Linden Moore is believed to have
comitted suicide in Yosemite Park, but Fred Comstock
also seems possible.

Basket Dome is about 2km northwest of Half Dome.
Considering the circumstances of his disappearance...if
he did go back to the lady's car in Tuolumne Meadows,
perhaps he couldn't get it started (flooded it, whatever)
and so then caught a car ride with someone south along
Tioga Rd, got out at some place on Tioga Rd, a bit west
of Olmsted Point, then hiked south with the idea of hiking
south to Yosemite Valley (on a not too detailed map it
might look like a quicker shortcut), hoping to arrive about
the time his lady friend arrived in Yosemite Valley or not
long after (so she wouldn't be wondering where he was,
why he didn't drive her car to Yosemite Valley) ...he may
have not understood the terrain about Basket Dome,
attempting to get down into Yosemite Valley, is difficult to
traverse, looking at the Google Map, it's freaking looks
steep to attempt to get down into Yosemite Valley.
Maybe he got caught out in a storm or similar, didn't have
sufficient cold weather clothing, whatever, and ended
up dying of exposure to the elements?
