UPDATE: The search for missing children Lily and Jack Sullivan is ongoing in Pictou County.

Since just after 10 a.m. this morning, May 2, a search has been underway for two children who are believed to have wandered from a home on Gairloch Rd. in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County.

There is a multi-agency response currently on the ground in Pictou County. It includes resources from ground search and rescue teams from around the province who are collaborating to ensure resources and teams are available on an ongoing basis. Other resources and teams include the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), Department of Natural Resources Air Services, and several RCMP units, including RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drones) operators, and others. Additionally, the RCMP issued a vulnerable missing person alert for Pictou County.

Police and others involved in the search appreciate the ongoing community support across the province related to this missing person investigation. We ask, however, that the public avoid the search area to allow trained searchers to do their work. The child's family has been kept updated on the search efforts.

IF these kids were indeed Lily and Jack, I think, another car had brought them near to the location, where the "loose curl haircut" woman was waiting near a tan/golden car with open backdoor.

I can imagine, the children didn't know the tan/golden car or didn't know the woman or didn't know both.

So the person, who drove them to that location, explained to them "Now please get out of my car. Lily, you have to take care of your little brother and have to firmly hold his hand!! You both have to go to the tan/golden car, where the/a woman is waiting for you at the open backdoor. The woman will take you to ..... (where ever)."

As someone said here (Idk myself), the way from their home to this location was too far away for walking all the way. Another car would explain, how the children arrived at the location, where the tan/golden car was waiting. If someone gave advice to the children, where to go next, that would explain, why a woman waited beside an open car door. Certainly she took this position to be recognized by the children. Who is waiting next an open car backdoor otherwise (probably facing the arriving kids)?

I believe the woman, who saw the kids and that the kids were indeed Lily and Jack. Do we know, how tall they are, perhaps looking older than their age in that moment, they were seen?

I noticed, that I don't know Lily with pigtails. But I haven't seen many pics of her, so maybe, she has pigtails now and then. Someone had to weave her pigtails (IF they were woven), as I think, she wouldn't have done it herself. But Lily could have worn this hairstyle overnight, maybe.

These are my Monday-thoughts and speculation. It maybe completely different - as always.

I like the way you’ve thought this through. You’ve reminded me of scenes I have witnessed before. When parents separate, the children are often ferried between mom and dad based on agreed upon custody schedules. Sometimes mom and dad have such a strained relationship, an intermediary is needed to transport the children between parents. I’ve seen grandparents take on this role.
So imagine if mom drove these 2 kids to gramma, waiting in her gold car, to take the kids to dad’s place for the weekend. It was a Friday after all.
I personally doubt this was J and L. The time it took the witness to come forward may be a result of uncertainty whether she witnessed anything pertinent, but she finally decided to come forward and let LE decide if it’s relevant.
The ages and descriptions of the children is off, and I would think LE would confer with MBM and DM to ascertain if the clothes were a match and if L wore pigtails.

My curiosity has me looking for the Newsweek source. No luck with googling +clumps. A clump usually describes something similar to a wad, which leaves me to doubt the RCMP would’ve used that description if referring to a cluster or group of boot prints.

So I’m speculating Newsweek used A1 to reproduce a fresh looking news article from another media source, but which created a completely new but inaccurate version of the facts (including MBM and DM undergoing four polygraph tests).

If I was taking the description, I think I’d drill down a bit. Did you mean long? Short? Medium? Bob? Shag? How about hair colour?

“Loose curl” means what? Not an Afro? Not a perm? Semi-straight but not quite straight?

I was at an event last night, and looking around the room, I’d say half the women had a “loose curl haircut”, including me.

For the record, the woman in the gold car, it wasn’t me

I flip flop every day about what happened in this case. I decided to make a list to keep the known facts straight in my head. Does anyone have anything to add?

Mom/Stepdad are guilty:
- they break up 48 hours after the disappearance
- neighbor heard car coming & going all night
- previous CPS complaints & history of Lilly having a black eye
- mom left town & didn’t help search
- kids were called in sick to school that day

Mom/Stepdad are innocent:
- passed lie detector tests
- seem genuine & credible
- boot prints in woods
- weird gold car/grandma sighting

The CBC article that was linked in the previous thread is the first source I've seen that clarifies what time the kids were seen in New Glasgow (2:25pm). So assuming the reporting is accurate, as far as we know 2:25pm on May 1st is the last confirmed sighting of Jack and Lilly by anyone other than their parents

I personally don't think it was Lilly and Jack that she saw, purely because I assume the RCMP would've released that information as a matter of urgency if they thought it was likely to have been them

Yeah this reads to me that none of the 700 or so tips received by the RCMP have proven fruitful for the missing persons investigation. The tipster may have indeed saw two children getting picked up with no connection to this case. Otherwise LE would’ve been looking frantically for a gold car, if not issuing an Amber Alert. JMO

How to not directly answer a question, has anything changed since July 16th? But if evidence of criminality was to be found, I’d think that be earlier as opposed to later in the investigation.

She did say they weren't allowed outdoors without one of them being with them (paraphrasing, as I cannot recall her exact wording).
Also, step-gran said she heard them outside (which was during the time mom & DM were in bed with baby).
So, both can be true without contradicting each other.
My brother and I weren't "allowed" to leave the yard but... we did it quite often.

Personally I don't think this was lilly and jack unless they were in pj's or clothing meant for bed the previous night . Money was tight so prehaps they were sleeping in old summer clothing . That aside natashas description of a 10 year old girl and a 5 year old boy . While it would probably fit for Jack, it certainly doesn't for lilly even if we don't factor in height as some kids can be tiny for their age ,there is a vast difference between 6 and 10 in females . How they hold themselves for one .

DM or janie I think mentioned that lilly would call to jack saying "come on Jackie "etc .would this make her appear older to someone without children ( unsure if natasha has any ) if lilly was ' mothering" . Still I don't think so .

I feel the RCMP releasing only this tip is them covertly seeing if this lady comes forward to eliminate herself.

Too many ways you can poke holes in her account for it to be the children imo .

In a rural area where most everybody knows one and other or is related, sometimes it’s only a matter of the RCMP asking around to find out who owns a vehicle described like that.

Loose curls are the bigger, more flowy curls, like the mermaid hair trend. Tight curls are kinkier, like a poodle perm. Neither of those have to do with haircuts, so I'm not sure what's she's on about there, lol.

I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference between a 6 year old and a 10 year old personally, so I'm not stuck on that discrepancy. The witness could be someone who doesn't have kids and has never really been around kids much in her life. If I was close-up and interacting with the child, that would probably be different, but spotting them from a car, I'm not sure I'd make that distinction.
