James Earl Jones, the revered actor who voiced Star Wars villain Darth Vader, starred in Field of Dreamsand many other films and is an EGOT winner, died this morning at his home in Dutchess County, NY. He was 93.

His reps at Independent Artist Group confirmed the news to Deadline.

oh how I loved this man....
I was soooo fortunate to have met him twice is relatively private situations. Once was when he played Paul Robison in Boston, and my partner and I actually walked back stage and had a private conversation. Another time, was relatively private ceremony after the Challenger blew up with Crista McAuliffe, the school teacher in NH who was on that space flight. I remember readinng his biography, and just loved him even more, and he lived near where I had spent time in upstate NY...
Such a beautiful man, and what a contribution to theater, film and life in general.....

I saw him act on Broadway in NYC 20 years ago. Such a unique presence, his magnificence will be missed!

I'm just now finding out about James Earl Jones. What a bummer but what an incredible life.
