Circumstances of Disappearance​

Jerome left his mother's house in Courbevoie to buy her a Christmas gift at the shopping mall Quatre Temps in Paris. He was to meet his mother there an hour later. He was never seen again, only his skateboard was found.

During almost six years, nothing was heard from him except for some troubling phone calls: "Mommy, mommy, I'm dying, he hits me, come get me"; what was his mother heard two months after Jerome's disappearance when she answered the phone. One minute later there was another call and Dominique Caritet recognized clearly the voice of her son. After this there has been no signs from Jerome.

It's really frustating cause I can't find many articles about his story. There are some french youtubers who made videos about it but not many, and these are short videos since we don't have much information on it.
Sometimes you read about Jerome here and there, in a few articles, when a new child goes missing, a few lines about him, but that's all. The last article I was about to find that was focused on his disappearance only was from 2000. I even tried to look through the wayback machine but was unsuccessful.
This drives me insane, a child went missing in bright daylight, in a well-known mall (I went to this place dozens of time and believe me there are a lot of people in here, all day long!) and yet it's still hard to find infos about it on the net.

"December 14, 1991: Disappearance of Jérôme Cantet, 10 years old, in La Défense, near Paris, where he was going to buy a gift for his mother. Equipped with 300 F (45.73 euros) and his skateboard, he left his home in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) to go to the nearby La Défense shopping center, having arranged to meet his mother at 4:00 p.m. at the foot of an escalator. His skateboard was found two days later by the police in the shopping center, at the end of a corridor reserved for staff leading to a parking lot. "

The fact that his skateboard was found in a corridor reserved for staff may be an indication that an employee did it imo.
But maybe it was reserved for staff, like there was a sign "STAFF ONLY" hanging on it, but it wasn't closed so anybody could just go in it ?

Wish I could find more answers to all the questions I have regarding this case.

Here's a summary :

After Jérôme's disappearance, the police forces patroled the area, the town halls, residents and traders. Pictures of the missing boy were plastered everywhere in the cities of Hauts-de-seine.
After a few days, for lack of a rational explanation, the police started suspecting Jérôme's father. He was a "", kind of a gangster who was nicknamed Vélo and wanted for drug trafficking. They ended up ruling him out because they could see the love he had for his son and how much he was devastated after his disappearance. Also according to Jérôme's mother they had a really good relationship and she authorized him to come see his son or take him out for the day whenever he wanted to. They also had winter sports vacations planned together soon.
Then they tought about the runaway theory, but it was soon ruled out since it just didn't look like him. He's described as a sociable and endearing child, so his parents think it's possible he happened to meet the wrong person that took advantage of his vulnerabilty and kindness.
