Is it me or she looks like Roszan Jean Payne?
She does look a bit like Carl's Reconstruction.

She has all three identifiers. I wonder if they've run her fingerprints through the system again using the FBI's new tech.

I think it should be moved to the Jodie thread. Impossible this is Jodie, she disappeared in 1995 and this JD was found in 2022 with a battered and bruised but very recognizeable face.
No way, that’s ridiculous to assume, don’t you think? Or would you rather believe someone took her and killed her right away? I’d rather believe they were keeping her. Because people do that, for years as it turns out… so nothing is impossible. Assuming that makes identification impossible for the ones who were kept for years, or trafficked for years, wouldn’t you think…? The age would be right, and the uid looks exactly like her, myrtle beach Jane doe hasn’t had an identification that I’ve found yet her Namus is gone, so. Explain that to me. Please? Impossible, right?

So, Would it have been impossible to overlook Franklin Delano Floyd as William Bradford Bishop also? Because I think… there’s a severe resemblance… And I wouldn’t put it past Florida…

Hi I have been trying to make her face more realistic and I have been trying AI to add eyes since her eyes in those photos are closed. I used the post mortem photo provided by NameUs #UP7253

I added brown-hazel eyes and a mustard turtle neck sweater and I made her skin more realistic since her skin in the photo is rather waxy.

I really hope we get her name 🙏

@pepito87
Welcome aboard.
I'm old school, so taking old photos of deceased people and animating them kind of creeps my out, but I also have to say I appreciate your efforts and think you've done an excellent job making the picture look better.

Her features just scream Russian, Belarussian, Ukrainian or maybe Polish to me. Very distinctive look.

I agree, I also think she is from one of these countries, I tried to check the local missing people registries, but it is difficult to make search without a name there.

Sounds plausible to me, she could be originally from one of the former Soviet republics. Plus, imho, she is kind of a person of Central Asian descent, like Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan etc. or may be Tatarstan or Bashkortostan. Also, she could belong to one of the Northern Russian regions ethnical groups, such as Khanty, Mansi, or Yakut people. Her facial features differ from Caucasian, just look at her round face shape, cheekbones, and an eye shape. Even though, this woman might be from Eastern Europe, she still has some typical Asian facial features. IMHO

I don’t think this is accurate but I decided to give it a try anyway because I don’t have anything else to do; and even AI agrees she looks mostly Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. It also says Swedish but I don’t see her Swedish side although this is subjective. Either way she is mostly Eastern European according to this AI technology for whatever it’s worth.

I am from Central Asia, this woman does not look ethnical central asian for me at all. Just a typical Eastern European from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus or Poland as they do have round faces and high cheekbones as well. There are people from other ex-soviet republics in central asia, maybe she is one of them, but she looks very Belarus or Russian for me. Also polish.

Around the area where she was found there are many Eastern European businesses. Including a Polish cultural center which is no longer operating. Also; Polish and Ukrainian boat companies and fisheries. Most people associate New Bedford with Portugal only but there is indeed a large Eastern European community.

Agree, Asia is a huge continent; thus, there are so many ethnical groups.
Now it's crucial to identify this poor woman, get her name, and, hopefully, this help her family to find some closure.

This is a video of Pope’s Island Marina where she was found. This marina is currently administrated by NB city and its manager is Gregg Pupecki. There’s a hurricane barrier all around which has a narrow gate where boats can go into the marina. The East shore is Fairhaven, the West shore is New Bedford, the South is buzzards bay and the North Acushnet River which also has a bridge that will move to allow boats to cross. I think it’s very unlikely she was “dumped” somewhere else other than New Bedford or Fairhaven since the body had to float and cross the hurricane barrier gate which is not that wide also it would have taken a considerable amount of time for the body to float til that site and that area is full of people around since there’s a big park so a lot of people would have seen the bags floating.

In front of the marina there’s an Island called Crow Island and it’s located more to the East side of the marina (closer to Fairhaven). This Island has a house that was recently for sale. In the 1990s it had a huge antena as part of weather station designed by Peter Jarosik as shown on this YouTube video. This antenna collapsed.

I thought of sharing how this place looks and some history just for context.

I just found online a similar ring to the one she was wearing and it is sold on a Lithuanian website. There’s a Lithuanian village in Brockton, Massachusetts. This is 40 min away from New Bedford. In the late 80s and 90s, tons of Lithuanians were living there. Everything was Lithuanian. Some of them are still there but most of them have been Americanized and assimilated.

I contacted Aukso Sala, and they confirmed that the item appears to be the same model.

If that’s the case, I suspect the woman may be Marina Spuls from Vilnius, Lithuania, who went missing on January 1, 1993. She would have been 33 in 1996 and stood around 5’1”—matching the physical profile of the Popes Island Jane Doe. While her listed hair color differs from Marina’s photo, Jane Doe had recently dyed hers strawberry blonde. The Doe Network describes Marina’s hair as curly, but in the available photo, it doesn’t appear so—perhaps she used a straightening iron.

Between 1993 and 1996, Jane Doe could plausibly have undergone a root canal in the U.S., which aligns with the dental findings. Notably, Aukso Sala began manufacturing in 1994—two years before the body was discovered. It’s possible someone purchased the item in Lithuania and brought it to America.

If she truly is Marina, then there’s something heartbreakingly in her being found adrift in a marina—like the world knew her name and whispered it back without knowing.
