Circumstances of Recovery: The remains were located about 1.25 miles south of the Galisteo Dam Road, approximately 5.2 miles southeast of its junction with I-25, about 20 miles south of Santa Fe.

How do they know she was picked up at a truck stop, if she was already bones? Or did they arrest a trucker for being a murderer and he showed them where the is one was?

His name was Kenneth Ray Luna and they found her after he confessed to strangling a woman to death with her own belt and dumping her body by the Galisteo Dam. He was probably a serial killer and hung himself in jail in 1988. This woman would have been his first victim and was killed in mid-1986 if I’m understanding the newspapers right. Kenneth Luna
