This is a strange one MSM.

Investigators in Tuscarawas County are trying to piece together a disturbing case that involves an entire family. A father and his 4-year-old are dead. The wife and mother is in the hospital.

According to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff, at about 10:40 a.m. Saturday, the mother deliberately drove a golf cart off a dock at Atwood Lake with her three teenage children on board.

According to the sheriff, the father intentionally drowned himself.

"We believe he went in the water and probably died hours before the child," Campbell said.

“The woman has admitted that she put the 4-year-old in the water because she believes she was told to do that," said Campbell.

Charges are filed against a 40-year-old accused of drowning her child at Atwood Lake Park on Saturday.

The latest information released by the Tuscarawas County Sherrifs notes that following a joint investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, Ruth Miller, of Millersburg, Ohio, has been charged with:
- 2 Counts Aggravated Murder an Unclassified Felony
- 2 Counts Domestic Violence a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree
- 1 Count Endangering Children a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree

On August 23rd, at approximately 10:39am, Deputies and Atwood Rangers responded to an incident where a woman and three of her children crashed a golf cart into the water next to Atwood Marina West.

Initial reports indicated a female was following directives from God and had thrown her 4-year-old son into the lake. Her 45-year-old husband was also reporting to be missing. Searches were carried out and both the 4-year-old son and 45-year-old husband/father were located deceased at the bottom of Atwood Lake.

During her indictment on Monday, Miller pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
