The Tulsa, OK police department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 3-year-old boy, but they have not released the name or the picture of the boy. His mother is Lakeitha Timmins or Smith and his father is Darnell Smith. Both parents are unhoused. The DHS have reason to believe that the boy is abused or neglected and that he has been in a sexual and violent environment. DHS had a pick up order for the child but were not able to locate him. DHS reported him missing to the police on July 18. The last time he was confirmed seen is July 4. The mother is not cooperating in the investigation. She says that she paid another unhoused woman $50 to take him. He may have been given by the woman to an unknown man driving a Yukon (who may or may not be the father.) There have been unconfirmed reports that he has been seen downtown with other homeless people.

More (confusing) details can be found in the following two linked articles.

These "I gave my baby to someone else" stories never end happily. Jmo. Although it sounds like the police are confirming the Facebook post so maybe this one is true? But the fact that they aren't releasing a picture or a name makes me think they aren't expecting to find him. :(

This one hits hard. I came out of foster care after abuse (parent with substance abuse issues), Fortunately I was adopted by two law enforcement officers who fostered kids and they were great.

I wish we had more info on the parents. The mother's in the court system as "smith" but it's just a very old traffic ticket. Without an age or middle name, the father can't be confirmed from current court records. I'm not buying the "I gave my baby to someone else". I remember another case on here in Oklahoma where a missing kid's Mom said she gave the toddler to a drug dealer in exchange for meth. You all may remember this one: Oklahoma mother allegedly gave daughter to drug dealer

It's possible there are no photos of him?

The caseworker explained DHS had received a pick up order from the Tulsa County Courthouse for the child because it was believed he may have been being deprived or neglected.

On July 1, Catholic Charities reported to DHS they believed the child may be suffering abuse and may be living in a sexual and violent environment due to the child's behavior while he was at the organization.

On July 4, the day the child was last seen, the child's mother paid the other houseless woman $50 to take her child.

TPD said this second woman took the child to her own mother's house to celebrate the Fourth of July. While there, the department said the woman posted a picture of the little boy on Facebook and asked if anyone could claim him.

At this point, authorities said a woman messaged the houseless woman to tell her she knew the little boy's father.

Later that same day, TPD said the child was taken to the QuikTrip on North Peoria Avenue and East Pine Street. At the QuikTrip, authorities said the little boy was given to an unknown man driving a Yukon. The man is potentially the boy's father, but the man's identity hasn't been confirmed.

TPD identified the mother of the little boy as Lakeitha Timmins (potentially Lakeitha Smith) and the father as Darnell Smith

Okay, that answers my question about whether there is a photo of the boy. There is, and it's recent.

We don't have it. The homeless woman who is not the mom posted it on Facebook according to LE. LE has not released any photos.

if she had to pay someone to take him, why would she just not surrender to DHS? I know the answer ... because it didn't happen IMO.

If you put the mothers name in FB the childs name/photo will come up from people who shared the Tulsa Police post that has since been removed since he's found.

This is terrifying for what the reality in this situation is

I’m glad he was found. Now hopefully this child will live in a stable home/foster family environment where he can experience love and kindness.

This stood out to me (published while he was still missing.)

DHS said the mother has been uncooperative, only expressing interest in finding her child to obtain food stamps.
