An 81-year-old Barnsdall man is still missing after an EF4 tornado ripped through his house in the Osage County city on Monday.

As family and search crews continue looking for Wayne Hogue, his daughter-in-law Tamara Hogue told The Oklahoman that she and her husband, Richard Hogue, aren't giving up hope.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office posted the update earlier Saturday afternoon, not identifying the body but did clarify it was a male.

They said they found the body of a man from Bird Creek around 2 p.m.. They then said that there was no need for additional searching

The tabernacle of St. Mary's in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, remained untouched despite widespread damage to the surrounding area after a tornado touched down on May 6.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa concluded that the May 6 tornado that hit Barnsdall was an EF4, with wind speeds between 165 and 175 mph. It cut a 39-mile path of destruction, causing severe damage to trees, homes and businesses, including a local refinery plant that provides many local jobs. The damage was so severe that the tornado’s path was visible from space.

Family confirms recovered body in Barnsdall belonged to Wayne Hogue

The family has confirmed it was Wayne Hogue's body that was recovered in Barnsdall on Saturday.
