Robert Redford has died.

One of my favorite actors.

“Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah–the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. He will be missed greatly,” Berger said in a statement to CNN. “The family requests privacy.”

Robert Redford was very popular in my country Poland.

Here are some comments from his Polish fans:

"A legend is gone..."

"UNFORGETTABLE, WONDERFUL"

"The surname Redford in the cast always guaranteed a good cinema."

"A cinema giant, a legend, an absolute and undisputed star.
There are none like him today.
Moreover,
he was a very modest and wonderful man,
free from scandal,
with a very high personal culture and elegance,
who never made a fool of himself for the sake of applause."

Beautiful words about the beautiful man.

'Redford’s film version makes the crucial decision to keep Maclean’s voice in the film; his own prose is read as a narration, by Redford, so that we do not simply see events as they happen, we are reminded that they are memories from long ago, and that the author has spent time and trouble to draw the lessons from them.''

Robert Redford, the actor and director who sailed to Hollywood stardom with turns in classics such as “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “All the President’s Men” and invigorated American independent cinema as one of the founders of the Sundance Film Festival, died Tuesday morning.

He was 89.

Cindi Berger, his publicist, said he died at his home “in the mountains of Utah — the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy.”...

Rest in peace, Robert.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us.
He was another great actor whom I'd go and watch a movie, just because he was in it !
My utmost condolences to his loved ones.

Young Brad Pitt resembled Redford a bit in that incredible favorite film♥️

His partnerships with Paul Newman....hubba hubba.

Rest in Peace, and thanks for using your stardom for good.

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy posted on Linkedin:

Appalachian Trail Conservancy

We share our thoughts and condolences to the family of Robert Redford, a friend and advocate of the Appalachian Trail. His message from 2015 rings true today, as we all must work together to care for the A.T. and our public lands that provide places for us to enjoy the benefits of walks in the woods.

As Redford states, "...hikers seek peace and tranquility, rewarding physical adventure, and a deep connection to nature," and this is what the ATC is dedicated to protecting for all, forever.
