Anthony Joseph Spudis, 35, was charged Thursday with an open count of criminal homicide, robbery and burglary for a “heinous crime he committed,” Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said during a news conference at the State Police barracks in Wyoming."

"Dec 21, 2017. Investigators say this was a burglary turned murder, and they say they can prove Anthony Spudis, 35, is the killer.
Detectives say Spudis was burglarizing homes in the East Grand Street neighborhood that night and targeted Price’s house.
“Mr. Spudis went to Mrs. Price’s house, broke through a basement window, and proceeded to burglarize the house,” said Stefanie Salavantis, Luzerne County District Attorney. “While in the residence he encountered Mrs. Price and senselessly inflicted severe trauma that lea to her death.”
"Police got a tip earlier this year that Spudis was involved in the murder. The tipster told police that Spudis left Price’s home that night and went to the home he shared with his girlfriend just a few blocks away."

Officers searched his former home in August.... Police say they found Price's Access card bills, letters, family photos, and a jewelry drawer in Spudis' basement ceiling., along with Timerland boots that matched footprints from Price's basement.

Didn't take a pill, didn't know what it was to have a headache, took care of herself and her own home. She was quite a lady. best mom ever, grandma, great-grandma."

WILKES-BARRE — The trial against capital murder suspect Anthony Spudis is on hold until next year as attorneys work to track down dozens of witnesses and a judge contemplates a host of pre-trial motions. During a hearing Wednesday, the defense said it is working to track down more than four dozen potential witnesses for the three-week trial that was set to begin next month, and requested a continuance.
Luzerne County Judge Tina Polachek Gartley continued the trial until Jan. 6 at the defense’s request."
