Police captain accused of helping woman cover up alleged sexual abuse of child
High Ranking member of McBee Police Force- Captain Gregory Block arrested
Captain Greg Block was called to follow-up a suspected child abuse case through CPS. A medical professional made a call into CPS after observing evidence of genital injuries. This initial event occurred about October 2024.
Block was to take the child to see another medical professional and obtain a forensic interview.
Upon meeting with the child’s mother Janece Ervin Curtiss, Capt Block then called CPS claiming the he had investigated and there was no evidence of injuries, that he himself had investigated, and that he would seek further medical observation and a forensic interview.
Block did not take the child for further observation by a medical professional, nor did he schedule a forensic interview. Due to his actions CPS stood down. The minor child was then returned to Curtiss, who began a sexual relationship with Capt Block.
Aug 2025 Captain Greg Block of McBee Police Dept was arrested on charges of officer misconduct, and obstruction of justice. Block has been suspended from duty.
SLED raided McBee Town Hall with two dozen agents, investigating, taking pictures, removing boxes of evidence from McBee Town Hall.
After Block’s bond hearing $5000, he spoke to the media Queen City News, claiming his innocence…
