Prior to boarding the bus he was recorded buying four cans of lager in a local shop.

He last seen wearing a light jacket, red scarf and black top, trousers and shoes; he was also carrying a dark rucksack.

A concerned family and the Met Police are appealing for information on a 32-year-old man who was last believed to be in Chingford Mount. Nathan Cole had informed his brother that he was due to attend an event in Camden but was last caught on CCTV at a shop in Highams Park in East London before going missing last Saturday.

The disappearance of the former Bath University graduate has been described as “out of character” with his family stressing that his disappearance was “unprecedented”. Whilst Nathan, who had recently started a job with the finance department at London School of Economics, regularly socialised with friends, he had never previously failed to return home.

Speaking to MyLondon, his dad Eamonn said: “It’s certainly not unusual for Nathan to go clubbing at weekends with friends, he does that quite frequently and has sometimes been out overnight staying with friends. Certainly he has never been missing or out of touch for more than 24 hours when we didn’t know where he was.”

On Saturday (January 21), Nathan had planned to attend a gig with some friends in Camden but never arrived. He had travelled to Higham’s Park in Walthamstow earlier that evening to meet a friend but discovered upon his arrival that his friend was no longer available.

At around 9.30pm, Nathan, who lives with his mum near Ladbroke Grove, contacted his brother to inform him of his intention to go to KOKO in Camden. He was next seen catching a bus from Blackhorse Road, with police believing that he was in the Chingford Mount area between 10pm and 11pm.

Detectives searching for missing Nathan Cole are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Nathan, who is 32 and from the Notting Hill area, was last in contact with his family at 21:33hrs on Sat, 21 January in Wandsworth, when he told them he was going to a gig in Camden.

After extensive CCTV enquiries, police have discovered a last sighting of him at 22:46hrs on Saturday, 21 January.

Nathan was seen boarding a 158 bus in Black Horse Road, E17 that was heading north towards Chingford.

Prior to boarding the bus he was recorded buying four cans of lager in a local shop.

Nathan is 5ft 10ins, slim build with brown short hair and wears glasses.

He last seen wearing a light jacket, red scarf and black top, trousers and shoes; he was also carrying a dark rucksack.

Nathan has not been in touch with his family, gone to work and there has been no activity on his phone or bank account.

Specialist search officers have conducted searches in the area he was last seen, but without success.

Detective Sergeant Julie Morrow of the Central West Missing Person Unit, said:

“This is totally out of character for Nathan and both his family and officers are extremely concerned for his welfare. If anyone has any information, or saw Nathan, please contact police.

Not a direct route, would require several changes of bus or train. there is no indication he even made it to Camden. buying drinks in a distant place suggests to me either he was going to meet someone, or due to frame of mind was going off to the big Park at Highams.

He was then picked up on residential CCTV walking along Billet Road around ten minutes later. *At 11.17pm he can be seen on CCTV walking west along nearby Banbury Road in the direction of the River Lea.

While the footage from Banbury Road is the last confirmed sighting of Nathan, officers believe his phone was active in the vicinity of the former Ikea store in Glover Drive, Edmonton at 12.41am on Sunday, January 22. So far there has been no confirmation that Nathan was in possession of his phone at that time.

From the police map I can see that Nathan's phone was detected near a previous Ikea site at Meridian Water (rail station). The last report was of him heading towards the nearby River Lea. I'm a boat dweller on the River Lea and I can see from the map that (if in possession of the phone), he would most likely have crossed the river where the A406 (N Circular intersects it near Advent Way). In doing so he would have passed an illegal rave that takes place on a boat under the bridge most weekends and I wonder if he might have headed there. The Canal and River Trust are aware of the boat but are spectacularly ineffective. They could however put the police in touch with the owner or the police could pay a visit any weekend.
