"Teenager, 15, dies after being stabbed at school.

1738614185067.jpeg

Keir Starmer has said the
'whole country will mourn' with the family of a 15-year-old boy
who died after being stabbed at a secondary school in Sheffield today.

The victim was rushed to hospital
with 'serious injuries' after the attack at All Saints Catholic High School
where police were called at 12.17pm.

Emergency services,
including paramedics and an air ambulance,
raced to the scene on Granville Road
as classrooms were plunged into lockdown
with school grounds closed in the aftermath.

This marks the second time in less than a week
All Saints' has been locked down,
after staff and pupils were given
the 'stay put' order on January 29 over 'threats of violence'
between a 'small number of students'.

Sheffield Heeley MP Louise Haigh
has said
'serious question will have to be answered'
after the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy at a school in her constituency.

'A teenager is in custody
and South Yorkshire Police
have assured parents that there is no ongoing risk at the school'."

" 'The Sweetest Soul'

Harvey Willgoose
was rushed to hospital with
'serious injuries' after the attack at All Saints Catholic High School.

Despite efforts to save the teenager,
Harvey was later confirmed to have died from his injuries shortly before 4pm.

South Yorkshire Police said
another boy, also 15, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The teen was allegedly 'stabbed three times' by a fellow student he had 'shared threatening messages with',
according to a local 18-year-old who has friends at the school.

Others claimed Harvey,
described as the 'sweetest soul' by devastated friends,
was the victim of bullying
and was threatened at knifepoint at the school last week.

The alleged assailant had apparently brought a blade into school on Granville Road last week,
according to one furious parent.

On January 29, All Saints had also gone into a 'lock down',
they said."

:(

RIP to the victim.
Condolences to Family.

Awful.

At the age of 15 they’ll be either year 10 or year 11 pupils at the school (final two years of school in the UK system for those not from here)

if the things stated in the article are true @Dotta then heads must roll with this one. Surely he’d have been excluded if he had a knife last week to.

He might have have still been able to access to the school courtyard, where the attack took place, even if excluded.

But if he wasn't excluded then yes that's a big failing.

15-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed at a school in Sheffield has been described as
a 'lovely lad' and the 'life of a party'.

Floral tributes and messages have been left outside All Saints Catholic High School, where the boy, named locally as Harvey Willgoose, was injured.

A boy, 15, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody, South Yorkshire Police said.
The force said it was working 'at pace'
to build a full picture of what had happened.

According to the local newspaper The Star,
the school's head teacher sent a message to parents on Monday.
He said it was with 'shock and sorrow'
that he had to tell people a pupil had been fatally stabbed.

He also said the school would be closed on Tuesday."

Paying tribute to her son, Harvey’s grieving mother Caroline Willgoose,

as friends and relatives tried to console her with heartfelt messages.

A neighbour said:
'Harvey and his dad were huge Sheffield United fans.
It is just too awful for words'.

Social media tributes have flooded in for the teenager,
with one friend describing how Harvey was 'an amazing lad' who had been
a 'victim of bullying'.

They wrote:
'He was threatened with a knife at the school last week.
It's heartbreaking.
Harvey was one in a million.
He had his whole life ahead of him'."

"South Yorkshire's Mayor Oliver Coppard said:

'This morning a teenage boy went to school like thousands of others across South Yorkshire but won't come home; a young man who was a member of our community, with his whole life ahead of him.

My love, my thoughts and my prayers are with his family and friends, and the whole community of All Saints Catholic High School'."

it’s just so sad.

There’s quite a few comments on Facebook from parents of children who attend the school if people want to have a look (I will not post here as I don’t want to get in trouble!)

"Boy, 15, appears in court

charged with murder of 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose who was stabbed to death at school.

A 15-year-old boy has been remanded into youth detention accommodation
after appearing at Sheffield Youth Court
charged with the murder of Harvey Willgoose, 15,
who was stabbed to death at a school in the city.

The teenager,
who cannot be named because of his age,
is charged with Harvey's murder,
possession of a bladed article and affray.

The defendant appeared inside the dock in the courtroom which was attended by his father and uncle.

He sat with his head down throughout most of the hearing
and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address
during the 40-minute hearing.

He will appear in court again tomorrow.

In a heartbreaking statement issued through South Yorkshire police,
Harvey's mother Caroline Willgoose
and other family members paid tribute to their 'Harvey Goose'
and said
their lives 'will never be the same again'.

'We are utterly heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful boy, Harvey Goose'."

There is a real issue with knife crime in the UK at the moment. It’s always been a problem but the ages of these boys (and girls!) are getting lower and lower. I see a lot of people blame the government or multiculturalism. To me, it seems like some young men do not know how to express their masculinity anymore. Carrying a knife gives you a level of power and intimidation. It feels like a large identity crisis is happening within young male communities at the moment, with even boys from a wealthy family in a privileged area turning to knife crime and the “road-man” lifestyle, as they call it. It’s very concerning. Something needs to change when children are stabbing each other at school.

All MOO.

I guess
broken home environment
and inadequate parental methods
(or no methods at all).
No positive role models.

The boy did not plead to any charges ahead of a further hearing in April. A provisional trial date was set for 30 June

"Hundreds turn out for the funeral
of teen Harvey Willgoose, 15,
who 'was stabbed in the heart with hunting knife
in front of fellow pupils'.

:(

The 15-year-old was taken to Sheffield Cathedral in South Yorkshire
in a red and white coffin -
the colours of his beloved Sheffield United FC.

The cathedral's choir even agreed to sing the club's favourite chant 'Greasy Chip Butty',
during the service, which took place at 2.30pm today.

His distraught family - including mum Caroline, dad Mark, both 51, sister Sophie, 27, and brother Lewis, 25,
were seen at the service hugging each other.

Around 750 mourners,
wearing a mixture of formal wear, Sheffield United football tops
and t-shirts with pictures of Harvey's face, went into the service inside the cathedral.

Harvey's heartbroken family also lit a candle during the service,
which was conducted by Reverend Canon Abigail Thompson.

A poem written by his sister Sophie was read out.
It paid tribute to his love for Sheffield United.

It said: 'Your love for the blades grew.

Sneaking through the turnstiles, nobody knew'."

Rest in Peace.

Looking at the siblings age differences, they likely helped raise him and were protective of their baby brother. 💔. Gun violence is now the #1 killer of children in the US. Many young men (mostly) and women carry guns and use them. It's a mixture of a whole lot of influences and reasoning, music included, imo.
Does your country's youth listen to and adore artists who put out violent and vulgar music?

On Trial

"Opening the case for the prosecution today, Richard Thyne KC said
the stab wound that killed Harvey
‘was inflicted with such force that the knife cut the bone of one of his ribs’.

He said:
‘It was just five minutes into the school lunch break,
when Harvey Willgoose was stabbed to death.
It was quarter past twelve in the afternoon on Monday, February 3 this year."

"15-year-old schoolboy fatally stabbed a fellow pupil with a five-inch hunting knife
before telling a teacher
I’m not right in the head’,
a court has heard.

Harvey Willgoose, also 15,
collapsed less than a minute after he was knifed in the heart
at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on February 3.

Harvey’s relatives wept and covered their eyes
as the video showed the boys squaring up,
before the defendant produced a knife and lunged at him twice."

"A schoolboy tried to persuade his friend to hand over a knife
just moments before he fatally stabbed another boy,
a court has heard.

In a recorded police interview that was played to the jury today, the boy said:
‘He said he had a knife in his pocket.
I said “give it to me before you do something stupid”,
but he didn’t listen'.

The conversation was said to have taken place
as the boy and the defendant spent around two minutes walking down the length of the cafeteria corridor.

Around an hour earlier,
Harvey and the defendant had squared up to each other in a lesson,
after falling out on social media over the weekend."

Jurors at Sheffield Crown Court have so heard how the teenager - who told officers he had received "threatening" messages from Harvey before the stabbing - admits manslaughter and possession of a bladed article on school premises but denies murder. They have also heard evidence of the boy keeping images of him posing weapons and an "unhealthy" interest in knives.

The teenager - who must not be named for legal reasons - told the jury in his evidence he lost control after believing he was going to be stabbed himself. He said he had not wanted any trouble with Harvey that day and did not want to fight him. He told the court: “I thought I would have got stabbed by Harvey.”

The boy said he then pulled out his knife, telling the jury: “I was out of control in myself.”
