It looks like the smoke is from the underside of the plane in front of the wings. What's there?

CNN has just showed an image of a British Airways 777 fully engulfed on the tarmac in Las Vegas. No word on injuries

According to CNN passengers safely evacuated with only two minor injuries

He says the pilot told him there was a catastrophic engine failure which suggests an un-contained engine failure.
Also I note from the picture many passengers carrying luggage. I don't know what is wrong with people.
^ If in fact the fire was the result of a catastrophic engine failure (as opposed to overheated brakes) they are very lucky that the aircraft did not get airborne as this would have ended up like the Concorde crash in Paris.
