Yes indeed.

Putting his fingers in his ears won't work.
All of Bedford HMP will have the volume turned to top notch on their cell TVs and it's been the headline story on every BBC news since this afternoon, presume same on the other channels. Possibly the same tomorrow.

I imagine he will be in and out of hospital throughout his sentence. Attacks of MG, self harming, imaginary bum cancer, perforated Farmer Giles... he will use his hypochondria to garner as much sympathy/attention/special treatment/power as he possibly can. He'll put Ian Stewart, ex Brady, to shame.

I'm not an expert, someone here may know better than I, but I believe there are "holding" prisons where people are held straight after sentencing before being allocated to a permanent prison.

As far as I am aware, you have to have extenuating circumstances to be assured a place close to home. Such as having young children needing access to visits etc. Prisoners often apply for a move to be closer to family but are often turned down. I'll try and find some linkage.

My next grumble is about the police.

They did not do a good job. The cadaver/rescue dog indicated in the house in April. Unless there had been any other deaths in that kitchen they should have turned the place upside down, not leaving cars in the garage either.

That policeman speaking outside court said wtte 'you can't treat every missing person enquiry as a murder'. Well sorry, you were there with your dog and you were treating it as a murder enquiry when you drained the *wrong* cesspit, and that is just not accepting responsibility. Why did you ignore the dog?
 
While I'm feeling contemplative (and a little bit soppy) I just want to say thank you so much to all you sleuths for being such a welcoming, non-judgemental bunch. I was so thrilled to find a group of people who are also captivated by treading the lines between horror and intrigue, finding out what motivates people and what dreadful and amazing deeds our fellow humans are capable of. It's been wonderful to find a group of thoughtful, respectful posters who can maintain differences while not resorting to insults and attacks. I am so grateful for the way that jumping in is accepted, and that being new here isn't a barrier to joining in fully and being heard.

Thanks all, it has been so positive finding you. These crimes could sometimes eat me from within, and the husband is a sensitive soul who doesn't like to think about the darker side of human nature, so to have somewhere to share my thoughts has been really cathartic.

Obviously I wish Helen and Boris were in a little flat in Hampstead, with Helen bashing out self deprecating and hilariously devastating blog posts about the true nature of the man she thought was her happy ending. But we can't change history, and I know all of us won't forget Helen or Boris, and the person here who is the true loser is the man who took their lives without a thought for the consequences.

And hopefully having had the *advertiser censored* kicked out of him on a regular basis.

Take a close look at the box. Flaps are hanging down and he carries it by one of the flaps. Something is sticking out of the box and it looks like it could be the green counterpane or a pillow.

Its worrying that the police took three months to find Helen and Boris and yes with the cadaver. Suppose they took longer? Then would they have been able to find eg the Zop. in Helen's hair.

Do prisons have their own hospitals/sick bays or are prisoners sent to a general hospital? Just wondered.
 
Ah, I've only just caught up on the thread - so he is appearing by video link tomorrow, how predictable. I agree with Cherwell it shouldn't be allowed. I felt equally angry when that slimeball Levi Bellfield refused to leave his prison cell for sentencing. Ironic that the most inhumane people exploit their 'human rights' to the max. If I had my way IS would be forcibly herded into court with a lasoo and a cattle prod - I'd happily volunteer to escort him and no prizes for guessing where I'd direct that cattle prod - he'd be experiencing another cancer scare in no time!
 
Aww Squamous what a lovely post. Everything you said I second. I feel like I have made a bunch of new friends. Was a lurker from the Sadie Hartley and you are such a wonderful bunch - kind, funny and respectful. God bless you all and we will never forget Helen and Boris. xx

Hi RB I forgot to mention my gin of last evening turned cloudy when I added tonic to it. By the end of it, and have mused on its taste, I have decided it tasted like pine trees (Dettol) and black pepper. Not good at all but I would be interested to know why it went cloudy. That has never happened to me before. Also, I am going to have to tell a white lie before I pour it down the sink (unless you would like to sample it). I just cannot tell my lovely, thoughtful daughter and her husband that I found it unpalatable. I am gobsmacked it won a gold medal at some competition in America, I think.

Hi IB, the cloudiness isn't a problem per se as some gins high in essential oils from the botanicals used. Shouldn't affect the taste though outside of what the distillers wanted. Check the lovely, thoughtful daughter and hubby aren't doing a side line in moonshine! ;)

Check out Sharish magic gin. It's in a pretty bottle and a shade of glorious blue. When you add tonic it magically turns pink. Pretty tasty too. :)
 
I doubt anyone in the big house will fancy a go on Stewart, what with his Chalfonts, but I hope they are all treated to the sound of the squeaky-voiced coward sobbing in his cell for many nights to come. Even if it will only be from self-pity.
