the only thing that stands out about the John Doe is the scar tissue on the lower half of his face.. I wonder how prominent it was. None of the witnesses that saw the man and the boy mentioned anything on the scar on his face.. like the artist that drew him you think would of remembered that detail.. well unless it was on the other side of his face the side she did not see or draw.. I don't know.. just thinking out loud.. also thinking..the artist would of noticed details on the man like what he was wearing when she saw him on the train.. or any other witness that saw the man .. I noticed nobody mentioned what he was wearing..

Also she sketched a dark-haired man, but some of the descriptions mention that the man was blond like the boy.

Frank Bender's facial sculpture made him with dark hair too.It looks like the sketch the woman on the bus did.

I don't think I've seen that? It doesn't seem to be on any of the links here.

Whether he is connected somehow to the boy in the box or not.I pray this unidentified man is Identified some day. It's been a very long time.I feel very sad for him.

The artist renderings are on this link.Frank Benders sculpting his hair, what is there, actually looks a tint reddish in this picture.Other pictures I see he did it looks darker.I don't know what to think. http://americasunknownchild.net/Artists.html.

Thanks!

I made a side by side (click to enlarge, if necessary) with the boy's sketch, the sculpted man, and the sketch of the man on the bus. There is quite a similarity, though I suppose the sculpture has to be taken as speculation. But Bender is very good,
so it carries some weight.

I just wanted to bring the Sketch and Bust images in here from the link.. I wonder if the person that sold the cap ever saw the bust and sketch to see if the cap guy was the same...Father[1].jpgboxfathr[1].jpg

I pray he can be identified soon.It makes me very sad for him.

It been a long time for this poor man.I pray they can find out who he is.

I haven't heard much more on this poor man.Very sad.I pray who ever he is he can be identified soon.

The newspaper article on him is on this link. The facebook page for him. https://www.facebook.com/Unidentifi...57-Fort-Mifflin-Philadelphia-116167622298207/
The article I paid for and got says different than NAMUS.NAMUS said he is 5'3.This article says he is 5'10.That's a BIG difference.I am going to go by what this article says.It seems very vivid description of him to me.He has scar tissue on his lower half of his face and arms.I don't know from what.I'm assuming from burns? He was found in a blue checked suit. That should be able to Identify him.I don't think he got a lot of attention. That's sad.But I do think he connected to the boy in the box.

Has there been any more information said on the Unidentified man?

I wonder if Philadelphia PD thought these two cases were related back then? I realize that they were taking statements from possible witnesses about a man seen with the boy in the box, but were they making the connection or just gathering more info? I totally agree that two bodies found in the same county a couple months apart is way too much coincidence to ignore.

I agree with madamx on the scar tissue - seems like something you would remember, even if the scarring wasn't extreme. I feel like anything like that on the face is something that gets committed to memory, just because it's unique.

Also, one of the informants (the post is from page 2 of this thread) said the man was "sloppily dressed", but he was found in a suit.. it's possible that he wore the suit on purpose if he was planning to commit suicide, that way he would be found in his "Sunday best". Of course, it's also possible that he was just dressed casually when the informant saw him, but looking a little deeper, this is also a possibility.

Last thing - I wonder why he wasn't entered into NAMUS until May of this year? That's a whole 60 years that almost no one knew of his existence. Really sad.

I am very interested why he wasn't entered into NAMUS until May of this year also.

I think he can be related to the boy in the box some how.His father? a relative? I please need all help to push that to see if they will check if they are related by DNA.
