GUILTY CA - Israel Ledesma-Moreno for kidnap of 3yo boy, San Bernardino, 2009

Yes, I did read that. Maybe it's the pics, but he looks really fair skinned to me. I would never know it -- personally. I guess it's either here nor there - this child has been kidnapped, black, red, white, or green. My apologies, I wasn't trying to play the race card (if that's what I'm trying to say). We all come in different shades and colors.

Maybe the perps thought they could pass him off as their cousin/brother.

In any case, I just pray they find the little tyke.

Bless,

A neighbor, Estela Magna, told KABC-TV in Los Angeles that the mother told her "They said they were going to take her son and take him to Mexico and kill him."

OMG - that's what I'm afraid of. We don't have the best relations with the TJ police, so unless this can get political, the chances of getting him back are not so good. And remember, everyone is holed up in their houses (restaurants, schools, malls all closed) with the swine flu so it's not like anyone would be looking for him. If this is gang related, I can't fathom how this little boy is coping right now.

I'm doing a lot of praying right now.

Thanks Mgardner, it sure does sound like MS-13 gang members. There are alot of wanna be's of the MS-13 though. You can get away with that in smaller towns or cities, but in So. Cal. being a wanna be will get you killed, so these guys could be the real thing.

It's odd to me that the DOJ has assessed the MS-13 threat as medium. They may be unorganized and minus leadership, but appear to be able to wreak all kinds of serious havoc.

Wow, when the Department of Justice steps in, you know they're big trouble.

Homeland Security, created to keep the US safe from terrorist attacks, this month announced that they are engaged in raiding street gangs. The primary gang of interest is MS-13. This is an extremely brutal gang with ties to Central America with possible military training and rumored alliance with al-Qaida. "Operation Community Shield" netted 375 arrested gang members in 24 states. Crimes included rape, murder and drug trafficking. MS13 is the fastest growing gang and most brutal gangs that law enforcement officials can remember. To learn more about this gang read the article MS-13.

Now there's no BASIS this gang is affiliated with the crime, it's just my pure speculation. Gangs like to leave a defining trademark in their crimes -- and their colors are very important.

Just my thoughts.

Why bother taking him if they're just going to kill him? Not that any crime makes sense, but it would seem to make more sense to just kill him at the home if that's what their intention was.

]Steve Huff has written on little Briant Rodriguez. http://www.truecrimereport.com/2009/05/amber_alert_briant_rodriguez_a.php#comments

This little three year old boy had his house broken into... his mother, himself, and his other sibblings were tied up. The masked men decided to take little Briant as well.

Le does not think this is a familial abduction.

An amber alert has been issued.
After about 20 minutes, the men left with Briant, telling the still-bound mother and the other children not to call police, the department said in a statement.

"It's horrifying," sheriff's Lt. Rick Ells said. "I don't think I could impress on you how rare a kidnapping like this is."

One of the children — an 8-year-old boy — wiggled free from his ties and freed the rest of the family, sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said. Briant is the youngest sibling and the others range in age to 16. No witnesses saw the men's vehicle.

The boy's father was at work at the time and the initial investigation pointed to the kidnappers being strangers to the family, Ells said. There were no emergency responses to the house in the previous 90 days.

"It doesn't look like it's a familial abduction of any sort," Ells said.

In the video I posted above they said that this home invasion/abduction happened yesterday, Sunday, at 2:30pm.. nine hours later (when they determined it was not family related abduction) they issued the amber alert. There is no witness/description to the car....

Doesn't this sound a lot like the child that was kidnapped because the Grandfather owed drug money in, I think, Washington State? Actually it was Las Vegas :) - Puffenberger or something?

Why would they take the little boy? There has to be some kind of connection or the robbers are pedophiles. I'm going with some kind of connection at this point. Holding the child for ransom, kidnapping the child for a relative, perhaps an estranged father/mother? Gotta be something.

Cindy Beavers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said, “We are extremely concerned about the boy's safety. He is only 3-years-old and he is obviously with strangers."

Authorities say two armed men burst through the front door, tied up the boy's mother and four other children before ransacking the home and stealing money. The mother told investigators she's never seen the men before.

Ransom. It's big business in Mexico. I just read somewhere that Arizona is having a lot of spillover problems with it too.

These drug wars in Mexico are gonna get really ugly for us in the States if we don't watch it.

A lot in the news lately about Phoenix having the highest kidnapping rate in the country. New Mexico has a big problem there too. I suspect it's now spilling over into other states.

Nancy Grace is covering this tonight and I don't think she understands what's going on in the states that border Mexico with the drug cartels kidnappings.
