This I small bit of ac article about Mcduff

He denies published reports that his daughter, Theresa, was the child of a woman he raped and left for dead in 1964, or that he tried to persuade her to smuggle drugs and become a Las Vegas prostitute.

He also denies her claim that McDuff's family paid a $25,000 bribe to a former parole board member to gain his freedom in 1989.

At worst, he indicates now, the 1995 liaison with Theresa's mother was "date rape,'' Theresa herself was into drugs and that he suggested Las Vegas only because she could earn money dealing cards in the casinos.

Hmmm... so McDuff COULD be his grandpa even....
1964-1979 15 years....

maybe not, but I got the "goosebumps"!

Honestly, I think all that Mc/BSL 'similarities' is wishful thinking. The only thing I see is the complete lack of humanity in the eyes. There's just nothing there. Evil, distance, coldness? Yes. Related? NO

Yikes, I kind of dread that!

No, seriously, I know it will probably be best in the long run and will make a lot of posters happier, as they have been asking for it. But -- especially for you new folks who haven't followed a sub-forum case before -- hold on, 'cause it might be a little confusing at first! Just hang in, and you'll soon get the workings of it clear.

Can someone explain what is meant?

Awww...it's not that bad, BW. LOL

I've opened a few threads already to get us started. Please start moving discussions into the related threads and feel free to suggest topics for others. Remember to stay on topic and be aware that the thread for general discussion will eventually be eliminated. As always, don't hesitate to contact a mod with questions.

Hmmm. Now I gotta go look to see Theresa's age and if he had any other kids.

I bet no dna of McDuff...and wonder if before BSL joined the Army, he was told about his real birth father. Very interesting speculation here.

"Some guy," who used to post here, and is a relative of BSL said that he was "not sure that Brandon even knows who his father is."

Yeah, I wondered how a sub-forum works...I had trouble finding the thread today and looks like numbers are way down, so I assume others are having the same trouble....

The dates for conception must be be provable. Was he in prison or not? The adoption records, even if sealed, would provide proof, or sort of, depending on what was listen on the birth record/certificate. Ugh!

Are some of the sub forums up? Cause I'm trying to find them on my phone and cannot.

I am not a forum fan...it seems like less activity and posting happens after a while...I know I post less on forums, as I try to decide which thread it should go on, and then say "never mind"...but that is just me. JMO

"Guidry" it seems is a very common name in Church Point as well??? Is there any chance that BSL is related to the owners of the funeral home there??? JMO!!! But... seriously. It does seem like the Lavergne's, Burleigh's and Guidry's are related through marriage.. I'm just not sure that it is the SAME GUIDRY'S... since there seem to be many in that area.
Has anyone looked into this?
MOO

It's not impossible, many families are large (especially several generations back it was common to have 10-12 kids and then those kids have another 10-12 kids etc.) and a lot of local families have been here for many, many generations. We run into people we are related to (that we've never actually met before) on a regular basis. When you meet someone, usually one of the first questions they ask is "Who's your momma?" etc. until they find a common family connection lol. There are a lot of common surnames in this area (and all over Acadiana) that might seem unique to an outsider but here are even more common than Smith or Jones, such as Lavergne, Burleigh, Guidry, Boudreaux, Leger, Arceneaux, Daigle, Babineaux, Richard, Fontenot, etc.

Um it is more then likely that BSL was very knowledgeable on SK via the Lavergne writer? Could be he fashioned himself to be like McDuff after reading about him.

Look at it this way. There can be a thread about the DWT and people who wish to discuss that subject can do it without upsetting people who have decided to look at other aspects of this case.

In my opinion it's not that its confusing, its that its hard to stay on topic of a particular thread at times.

I didn't mean to make it sound so bad, sorry! Looks like bessie is getting things ready, so the best way is just to dive right in and learn the system.

Basically, instead of having one long thread, there will be numerous threads for Mickey's case -- each with a topic. Within a topical thread, you (try to) post pretty much only on the topic it's devoted to.

Speaking of which...

Same situation here, cluciano -- maybe I'm just lazy, LOL.

I know some folks love the sub-forum format, though.

I bet you could throw a rock in any direction in Church Point and hit at least 1 Thibodeaux or Breaux

I followed a link with no problem to find were Mickey's thread went.

Your on a sub-forum right now. Mickey Shunick has her own forum with multiple threads on it. As members we have the ability to start new threads on separate topics about this case.

Okay, call me stupid, but how do you find these sub-forums...I see nothing related to Mickey anymore without doing a search from homepage.

Where do we go if we wanna talk about Mcduff, the bad boy book connection?
