Either because she wanted to make sure he was dead, or she is bat s**t crazy. I think probably both!

I think it was part of staging so law enforcement would think two people with two different weapons committed the crime.

I understand why people believe that she took them without his permission but I do not think that's the case. Men are much less likely to play up for the camera than women are. I can believe that he really did say to her that he felt gay. The intent of the shots was clearly to be sexy and show off his newly toned body not to smile head on.

The reason I think they were taken w/o his permission is that she didn't use the flash on so many of them. Also the were poorly framed, badly composed, and taken from weird angles which don't look good. If he was posing for them, they'd have been better. jmo

.

Sorry, without knowing exactly what was damaged in his brain, there is no way to say with 100% certainty what results that would have. There is just no possible way to be 100% positive of the damage.

IMO

And you can say this with 100% certainty? None of us were at the autopsy so I'm not sure how anyone of us can prove what the ME stated as being incorrect. I just feel if anyone would know, he would. It will be interesting to see if another ME is brought in by defense to disprove his statement. jmo

Off current topic (and may have already been discussed) but IT clearly looks like blood running down his neck in the pic of him from the side. Has it been discussed in trial if it was?

Yes it has been discussed, or at least acknowledged as "red stripes that look like blood."

1 minute 15 seconds. CAN YOU IMAGINE??

That equates to 1 stab wound every 2.5 seconds, without factoring in the struggle or throat slash.

:furious::furious::furious::jail:

Night all. Catch ya tomorrow.

I am just wondering how many of the posters here tonight are doctors or have experience in forensic pathology. Verified. tia

Everyone,

She is going to be convicted. She'll be convicted of something. It could be 2nd degree murder or 1st degree murder, but she is not going to be walking out of that courtroom a free woman at any point in the next several decades, if ever.

She might (only) get life without parole, that's what I think will happen.

I predict 1st degree murder, but no DP given. But I now can see why the DA made this a DP case and at this point I agree with the state trying for it.

Let's have a recap here. She doesn't contest she killed him. She had various scenarios up until she couldn't escape the fact that LE had evidence that she killed him. She then claims self defense. There has been no evidence to date from the prosecution that she should be afraid for her life.
The defense has a HUGE job to prove self defense. The jury so far has seen everything we have seen.
Anyone really thinking self defense so far?

I went back and read thru some of the testimony. In the DA cross, I believe the ME does say there was bleeding in the skull and in the cheek. That he didn't see any in the brain area because of decomp. I think it could be possible that the bleeding that had been in the brain was not evident because of the decomp. Or that the bullet passed thru the brain in such a way that crucial parts were missed. I fully admit I am not a brain specialist. (I know you are thinking this is obvious...LMAO) :) I also think it could have all happened so fast that he still could have been incapacitated within minutes. The other thing I wonder about is if he was alive and able to defend off the stabbing, he is much more powerful than her and it would seem he would have more defensive wounds to his hands.

It's hard to imagine that ANY of this happened within just MINUTES. When I think of it that way, it's not so easy to explain. MOO :fence:

To add to this, he was dead within nearly a minute. That doesn't really give his brain too much time to even bleed when he's bleeding out his throat a minute later. Does it?

I think a lot of the controversy tonight is that we are all very curious people who want to understand exactly what happened. But I'm not sure it really matters in the long run. I just hope the jury doesn't get as hung up on this one point as this group is, because if that happens: disaster.

IMHO, to be sure he's dead, and to deliver a coup de grace. But again that's only my opinion. The ME said he could live "a couple of minutes" after the throat cut, albeit incapacitated. Just my thoughts...

Iirc he never said a couple minutes after throat. He was nearly decapitated

I agree totally.

Adrenalin is very very powerful!

Of course I can say that with 100% certainty.

The mere fact that the ME admits that he can not see the exact place that the bullet went through his brain shows that he can not know what effect it had on Travis 100%. He might know with 95% or even 99% certainty but, that leaves room for error.

I, too, believe if the bullet did not immediately bring him down he would have been able to subdue her and protect himself. So it can't be both ways. If he were still able to move and knew he was being attacked I believe he would have easily overpowered her and gotten the gun from her.

We know he tried to get the knife away from her and that the heart wound was fatal within minutes. So if he had been shot first and she stabbed him in the heart it's not likely he would have made it down the hall to the bedroom. And I believe he was able to make it all the way to the bedroom because JA went to get the gun wherever she had it hidden. jmo

I don't even think it matters one way or another. In either case he still suffered just as much no matter what she did first. He suffered for the entire time that he bled out. That should be the only thing that matters to the jury in deciding if this murder was heinous enough for the DP.

I like some others cannot believe she over powered TA with a knife..And the "what looks like blood to me in the shower while he is standing, makes me think she shot his first...Personally, I dont care which or what happened first, except in understanding how she was able to kill him ..:( The order doesnt matter must, gun shot would work better for defenses theory and I do think that may be the start of it but still believe she will pay for this horrific crime

If the money shots accidently streamed on ABC are any indication, poorly composed and badly framed pics of travis posing naked wouldn't be out of the question. And the badly framed, badly composed pic of him on the bed obviously was taken with his permission. jmo
