Cutter, was there any mention of a vehicle, as if there had been an accident and David might have been thrown clear, for example? It sounds like they just found remains.

Sorry, can't get a link to work, but the Wash Post is reporting that Welch is poised to plead guilty.
Certainly hope this plea will include something that lets the Lyon family really know what happened.

Heartbreaking to see these old cases that have gotten so little press over the years. Coming up on 25 years. Here's hoping 2017 will bring resolution for her family and friends. Thanks for posting, OkieGranny.

IANAL, but I'm pretty sure the attorney-client privilege still applies. If it didn't, then anyone who fired their lawyer would be faced with that lawyer blabbing all their secrets. I believe only Jodi can waive attorney-client privilege in this case.

According to the Washington Post, there's supposed to be a hearing today because the defense attorneys are asking for more time before the trial starts. I don't think this is anything new -- they've been quoting the large amount of documents in the case pretty much since Welch was arrested...
So Gentz says he signed the deposition without reading it because he was angry. He was angry because he'd been promised he'd be safe in jail and he didn't feel safe.
Judge set next meeting date for July 14, when she will hear 40 minutes of closing arguments from each side and will give her...
I think the problem is, no matter what Gentz says, each side will be able to argue that he said something different previously. But I guess once you start a hearing, you have to finish it.

We do have the same thing, but the defendant has to request a bench trial. The judge can't force him to have one because they can't find enough unbiased jurors.
