I can totally understand the family's feelings about wanting to know every little detail about what happened.
Hubby and I lost our lifelong best friend in a car wreck a little over 2 years ago. He hit a patch of black ice, spun out, hit a culvert, was thrown across the vehicle (no seatbelt)...
I'm not local to Nashville so I'm not familiar with the area, but how hard would it be to purposely get to the water in the general area that his debit card was found?
This theory might be a little "outside the box", but what if he was trying to sober up, and decided it would be a "smart idea"...

"The organizer of the ride, John Walsh said, “I just organized this ride because when this news first broke that Tabitha was in this with the deputy...
Hypothetical Question: Let's say he voluntarily left to start a new life. If he had his name legally changed, would the police be able to find that out? If so, would they be obligated to tell his wife that he's been found, even if he wants no contact? Or would they be obligated to DS to keep it...
The Meigs County Sheriff's Department is located at 410 River Road, Decatur TN, according to their website. Contact Us | Meigs County Sheriff Department A Google search shows that the Meigs County Jail is at the same address.
I Googled that address, which is where the pin is. The purple...
I'm about an hour from Birchwood, so I'm not really familiar with that area, but it looks like both ends of Blythe Ferry Road run right into the water. I assume it's named that because there may have been a ferry in use at one time. I'm not sure which boat ramp it was, since the Google map shows...
He's been found, deceased. :(
DA: Meigs Co. deputy body found after cruiser recovered from Hiwassee River
"DA Johnson said Leonard's body was found at 6:40 p.m. by Mees County EMS and Rescue Squad. His body was submerged near where the cruiser was removed, DA Johnson said."
(Pretty sure...
One of the men in the conference was offering his condolences, so it sounds like they're expecting the worst. And yep, Channel 9 is reporting that a vehicle has been found, as Simply Southern posted above. :(
The volume is low. It sounds like Deputy Leonard is his name. I missed the first part, but they seem to think there was a vehicle accident and the car went into the water.
There's not much information so far, but here's the most detailed local article I could find:
https://newschannel9.com/news/local/meigs-county-sheriffs-deputy-missing
... "the deputy was transporting a woman in custody before he went missing." ...
... "The still-unidentified deputy went...
I wonder if the truck has a dash camera, and maybe even a secondary camera where the load/trailer could be monitored while driving? Even if the truck didn't originally come with camera(s), aftermarket ones are readily available and fairly inexpensive. Do those cameras pick up sound as well as...
They've probably searched the area around his truck multiple times, but I can't help but wish they'd search one more time. He may have been missed, or some other "clue" might be found. I've been following the thread since Day One, and am totally baffled. No scenario seems to make sense! :(
According to this article:
Georgia Death Disclosure
Do you have to report a death in your home while selling real estate in Georgia?
Georgia has no requirement to disclose death. However, if a buyer ask , the homeowner has to tell the truth if known.
But this article goes on to say:
What...
I'm "spitballing", but could someone in another vehicle have been following him? Someone he knew? Someone who knew his route and his destination? Someone who was angry with him for some reason?
Maybe he managed to pull a distance ahead of them, purposely turned down the wrong road in an attempt...
