Can murder be proved without a body? There are ways

Sarah Lundy | Sentinel Staff Writer September 7, 2008 http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-murder0708sep07,0,931506.story

Orange County investigators have suggested in recent weeks that missing 3-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony may be dead.

But can they prove it?

Nearly two months after Caylee's disappearance became public, the search for a child, living or dead, continues. Authorities have charged the toddler's mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, with child neglect, but she remains a "person of interest" in what could turn out to be a homicide case.

Equusearch halts search for Caylee

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Texas Equusearch announced today that it will cease searching for Caylee Anthony -- at least for now.

The team of volunteers -- which numbered in the thousands Saturday -- is disbanding due to flooding conditions which director Tim Miller said has been preventing them from being able to properly search for the missing toddler.

During a 3 p.m. news conference with Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary, Miller he feared the searchers' vehicles could possibly run over the body of Caylee Anthony if she was submerged under flood waters

Search For Caylee Called Off

ORLANDO -- Texas EquuSearch has temporarily called off its ground search for missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony.

On Sunday, the group cited environmental conditions and concerns for stopping the search.

Texas EquuSearch leader Tim Miller said the volunteers cleared off the areas they had of interest the best they could, but he said when Caylee disappeared, those areas were very dry and now those areas are holding a considerable amount of water.

Miller said because of those conditions, they cannot clear those areas 100 percent.

I am dedicating the above song "It's Going To Be Alright Child" to little Caylee Marie Anthony, who has been missing since June 16, 2008.

I hope and pray that Caylee's mother Casey, gets to listen to this song, as I see this song as God's words singing to Casey, letting her know to trust him, and it will be alright to let go and tell someone where Caylee is.

I also feel the words in the song are for Caylee too, trust she will be found, trust it will be alright, trust it will soon be okay!

CASEY HAD FIGHT WITH PARENTS IN MID-JUNE

It has been 84 days since Caylee disappeared. As far as anyone knows, her mother Casey has not spent even one of those days looking for her.

Eyewitness News has learned that an intense fight right before Casey left with Caylee in mid-June was over money that Casey had stolen from her own grandparents, from an account dedicated to paying for assisted living expenses. Tensions had been building over the theft.

Eyewitness News also learned Cindy Anthony had gone to a counselor who told her to kick Casey out. Cindy was worried Casey would take Caylee with her, so the counselor told her to try to get legal custody of Caylee.

Before that could happen, Casey and Caylee left and Cindy believed Casey kept Caylee out of touch just to punish her. Relatives said Caylee was more attached to her grandmother than she was to her own mother.
