I wonder if Benjaman has gone to the library to search the newspaper archives for the area around the time he was found?

Unlikely, but...

CAYMAN ISLANDS (21 Feb 2004) -- A Pound Ridge man is missing and presumed dead after a scuba diving accident in the Caribbean last week.
Armand Benedek was diving off the coast of Grand Cayman Island, where he had been vacationing every February for more than 40 years, when he went missing Feb. 9. Benedek was last seen swimming about 10 feet beneath the boat that was supposed to take him back to shore. He was 72.

HILO » The estranged wife of an Indiana man who disappeared on the Big Island last year is asking the court to declare him legally dead.
Tamara Annette Lynch has not heard from Timothy J. Lynch since June 1, 2003, according to a petition filed last week in Circuit Court.

ETA - This article http://www.14wfie.com/Global/story.asp?S=5265901 mentions a possible match on the Doe Network:
http://doenetwork.org/cases/712umhi.html
It mentions the age of the Doe as late 40s-early 60s (I could not find an age for Mr. Lynch but he must be in this age range as well). If these two are not a match, then the missing man could be a match for Mr. Kyle.

Thanks, SS! I guess we can rule him out.

I've been doing searches for "Indiana declared legally dead"...I'm finding a lot of pages about Jimmy Hoffa :p

Here is a very interesting case from Tulsa OK...TPD just put their missing persons cases on their website this week! (I had no idea we had so many here because they aren't listed anywhere!!) I will call them tomorrow and see if we can get more information and photos.

http://www.tulsapolice.org/missingperson/Record.asp?key=50&

The case where the car was found abandoned in NC was from 2006, so it is automatically eliminated, at least in this case. Still working on getting information for the other one.

One thing I have noticed, Look at the spelling mr Kyle is using for Benjaman, When I have googled that it asks me if I mean Benjamin. It seems that is the MORE COMMON spelling, BENJAMIN. and Benjamin could also be a last name his dads name, his sons name. I went to school with a girl with the last name Benjamin. Here in Indiana

I have been searching for (man missing while on business trip) nothing so far that seems to fit Mr Kyle, anybody else feel free to pickup on that angle. I really got to get to "work" LOL, at my "real job" although I like MY WS JOB MUCH BETTER!!!

People missing or unaccounted for after Hurricane Charley

(Hurricane Charley hit between August 9-15, 2004)

Officially, there are few, if any, people missing from the destruction of Hurricane Charley, authorities say. But thousands of people remain unaccounted for in the minds of friends and relatives who have been unable to reach them because of widespread telephone and power failures.

Until the electricity hums again and the debris is cleared, health officials are worried that there could be more deaths and injuries in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley than during the storm itself. At least 21 deaths had been linked to the storm.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5653487/

Officials have said hundreds of people are unaccounted for but still have no official count. The search for missing people is slow in some areas because downed power lines and debris is making the search dangerous.
